Actually, it would’ve been 1/25/13. They were 2-1 going into a game against the Canes.

Maybe it’s a coordinated effort to create hype about the food?

Detractors will say that Eichel doesn’t have the talent around him that Matthews has. I’m pretty sure the Sabres have tried almost everyone they’ve had on a line with Eichel. Jack does have skills, when he tries, but I’m getting skeptical about him when watching other league talent. I’m really hoping Eichel will find a way to be on that next level.

I don’t even think it’s catch radius...I don’t think he has the hands to catch anything. Maybe 10% or less of the time does he actually get one in his radius.

What a crazy finish to the Leafs-Hawks game. Kane scores with 90 seconds left to tie it at 5. Matthews scored with a minute left to make it 6-5. Kane scores again with 30 seconds left to tie it at 6. Watching this game, made me realize the Sabres don’t seem to have a “game-changer.” As much as we are hoping Eichel will be one. Kane with two clutch goals at the end, Tavares with a hat-trick, Matthews with 2 goals...these three really impacted the game in a way that we need a Buffalo player to do.

I didn’t see that one, but I’ve seen Kelvin drop many good passes this year. The pass that drove me nuts is the one to Holmes that ended up being an INT. You can’t tell me Allen is working with a semi-decent WR corps.

Not sure how he can really do anything more with his arm, when nobody downfield can get open 70% of the time, and when they are, they don’t catch the pass.

I thought Allen was okay. Nothing spectacular, but also nothing atrocious. I agree about the playcalling. It’s also frustrating watching WR’s that can’t catch a ball.

Ummm... I don’t think he’s played professionally since he got injured with the Amerks in 2010...

Observations: -Hutton stole the game. With any of the goalies we’ve had since Miller, this was likely a loss. -We were even with the Rangers in 5v5 play. Back and forth. Considering they might be one of the worst teams in the league - take it how you want. -We won the game based on 2 PP goals. -Buffalo seemed to be playing “prevent” in the last half of the 3rd. Whatever happened to playing the game that got you the lead? -Saw a lot of “dump and chase” hockey from the Sabres. I assumed assembling a “speed” team meant they would be entering the zone in rushes. HCPH seems to interpret the speed as hoping they can retrieve the pucks on dump-ins. -Overall, most of the Sabres players seemed more comfortable tonight. Whether that is because they were playing their game, or a system HCPH designed, remains to be seen.

While I agree with all of you, players are doing it reactionally in these situations anyways. There was no intent to injure. The NFL has lightened their rules which have allowed more scoring (under the guise of player safety). The fans like scoring. if you have the skills to score a goal like Tage did, and were not out to take someone’s head off, maybe they should consider allowing those goals. Just throwing it out there.

Maybe someday the league should rethink their rules about those goals. That took a lot of skill to “score” that one.

Skinner may have had the play of the period in selling that penalty. I knew of his figure skating skills, but not of his acting skills. As i mentioned in another thread, Elie was a fan favorite in just one season in Dallas. Seeing why.
