  1. Stumbled across this earlier (not a rumor, just someone’s proposal):
  2. Well thank God they didn’t go outside the box for these hires. Clearly hiring outside of the organization for 9 seasons hasn’t worked, so let’s promote people on the inside who have been part of the losing for these last 9 years. Next they could promote the tenured janitor to fly their private jet, and wonder why it didn’t work out when they crash.
  3. Screw them. I’m not about to feel bad for a team that’s won 71 Cups and was in the playoffs 36 straight seasons, when our miserable team has been around 50 years and hasn’t even been in a playoff game for the last 20% of its existence. And now the NHL wants to drum up some random improbable anomaly in a lottery to try and drum up interest in their sham Covid playoffs scenario? Every year we are always 3 years away. How is this even possible?
  4. The 8 teams that lose the first round of the PLAYOFFS all get a 12.5% chance. (I don’t care what moniker the NHL wants to give it - it’s playoffs).
  5. This is also where I got confused, because I thought I heard Kathryn Tappin say “the team that ends up 12th will now get the top pick.”
  6. I’m still hoping they have a spot for Tre White after all the fine work he’s done with the goaltending academy.
  7. Ah so I just misunderstood. I thought it was only for the 8 teams that were granted the privilege of a shot at the play in rounds. So you meant any of those 16 teams, not 8 as you wrote.
  8. Can someone with a better brain than mine explain what’s going on? I thought only the 8 teams that didn’t qualify for the playoffs but qualify for the play-in are the ones with the shot at the top pick?
  9. If this is true, it’s a knock on Ralphie. For some players, you have to let them play their game, and not try to fit them into a box.
  10. Victor Nechayev, 1982.
  11. I thought it was gonna be called “The Krak House?”
  12. Currently? No, there’s no hockey.
  13. Me either. I thought he was from Smash Mouth.
  14. I heard that the housekeeper was let go.
  15. If you were a fly in the wall, you probably wouldn’t be able to see or hear much.
  16. Not really a fan of the nickname “p-ham,” but would’ve been okay if it was “rum-ham.” Otherwise, I don’t have any opinions on the guy.
  17. A petition was filed to rename Columbus to Flavortown. https://www.dispatch.com/news/20200622/lsquoflavortownrsquo-to-replace-columbus-thousands-want-ohio-capital-renamed-for-native-guy-fieri
  18. Unfortunately, there are a lot of voices that have an audience, and shouldn’t.
  19. Wasn’t that Deep Thoughts by Jack Handley?
  20. I mean, if a team wants to give us a Forsberg, Ricci, Hextall, Simon, Duchesne, $15 million, and a Thibeault to trade for a Roy, sure. Assuming we have a Sakic, Nolan, and Sundin already on our roster, of course.
  21. Idk, I’m no longer convinced. He may be a 1st line player here due to lack of talent, but he may only be a 2nd liner on actual good teams. I like him, but I don’t see him as being a solid player if he was ever in the playoffs. Picture the Sabres in the playoffs. It’s a game 7, game is tied, 4 minutes left in the game. Puck goes into the corner. Do you trust Samson to go in and win that battle?
  22. As a “Christian,” it only took me about 5 minutes to see where he was going with this. I’m sure people thought World War 1 was the end times, as well as the pandemic of 1919 and ensuing depression, World War 2, the Cold War and impending nuclear annihilation, etc etc. It’s always possibly the end times. As he quoted from Scripture himself - “I will come like a thief in the night.” Nobody knows. To say you know is contradicting the Word itself.
  23. We need a 2C - and not try to force someone into the position who doesn’t qualify (i.e. Mitts, Johansson, Grigorenko, Leino, etc). We also need a 2W, and not pray for a Sheary, Vesey, Sobotka, Tage, Frolik, or a Kahun etc to fill it. We have plenty of candidates to properly fill the 3rd and 4th lines. It doesn’t seem like rocket science, but those in charge make it seem like they’re trying to perform brain surgery blindfolded.
  24. Killed “our” cap, or killed “their” cap? I used to feel, as a fan, that I mattered. That it was “our” team. I felt like I was a part of it, especially when crowds were active at games. I haven’t felt that way in many years. 2007 was the last time, and maybe some moments in 2009. I feel like it’s “their” team, and not “ours.” Which is fine I guess, since they bought the team. The years of Me buying tickets and parking and all sorts of memorabilia and merchandise don’t matter. They’ve continually found ways to insult the fans of their/our team for no particular reason.
