It’s almost impossible to have an opinion without knowing what’s going on in his head. Did he plan on sitting on his hands all season and not plan on pushing for the playoffs? Did he try to make trades but they weren’t there? Were good trades there, but he was scared? No way to know. We can only speculate. Beefing up on way too many defensemen to just not make any moves was pretty suspect, though.

I’ll admit, I was fooled. I knew we didn’t have enough talent, but some part of me thought that Ralph would motivate them enough to be competitive this season, until JBott made a couple moves before New Years to make us a for sure playoff team. Now, I’m almost convinced that nobody above the players skating on the ice knows what the hell they are doing. The PP sucks, the PK sucks, Hutton got worse, the Mitts and Tage debacle, Ralph pulling goalies at odd times / skating 11 forwards / refusing to tinker with Jack-Sam-Jeff, JBott going into the season with 78 NHL capable forwards and refusing to make any moves...the list goes on. The shoddy in game entertainment and not truly seeming to care about the “Golden season.” The only thing that anyone got right this season was the jerseys - and they didn’t even have enough to sell to the fans. Also, it’s a minor miracle that Jack has exploded into a superstar this season, despite never having a solid coaching mentor on this team. Imagine how much even greater he would be with an actual x’s and o’s Coach all this time. This team, although I do love them, it’s a complete and inexcusable embarrassment.

I agree that a catch all thread about a prospect is just fine. Yet, if Reinhart got kicked out of a Denny’s tonight, that should be separate from the Trade Reinhart thread.

It’s not unreasonable to teach them PK, and expect at least 1 of those 5 names (if not more) to become a solid penalty killer. They are freaking defensemen, playing defense should be at least some part of their game, they’re not all Paul Coffey’s.

I’m well aware of this, being a veteran of many sports games and giveaways. We were there early - but apparently so were 10,000 or less other people (a guy sitting by himself in front of us had a stack of 6 of them somehow). I can understand limiting something more “pricey” such as a bobblehead, but this was a cheap pennant. On top of that, this is supposed to be a season of celebrating the fans and the team history.

When you’ve been to games in other cities, it really puts it into perspective how terrible the game experience in Buffalo is. Much of it seems to be a whole lot of small details that are ignored, which culminates into a total problem. Yes, most of us are there for the game, but that shouldn’t nullify any attempts at a better experience or entertainment factor for casual fans, new fans, kids, etc. One example was the recent “90s” day. I bought tickets to bring my father who has been a fan since inception, and my daughter to her first game. There was a pennant giveaway. They must have been a limited supply, because we didn’t get any. Even my father commented how trivial it would be to only supply a certain amount of a cheap item like a pennant instead of to everyone who paid for a ticket.

Mitts looked angry tonight. Not sure if he’s frustrated about the situation, or has been told by Tails/Ralph to play aggressive, but he was hitting and shoving. He was engaged most of the game, and was typically visible when he was out there. Still has things to work on.

I’ve seen Ravens fans and Chiefs fans both posting that they are glad that they don’t have to face the Bills in the playoffs. Is it really a stretch to think that those in charge of the NFL don’t feel the same?
