What should the Sabres do with the 8th pick?
Andrew Amerk replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
Where does Zemgus go? And TT is playing D now? -
Sorry but giving up one of our D plus a player like Mitts who isn’t gonna make it anyways, and an unknown pick isn’t going to “gut” our team. Our team already doesn’t have enough “guts,” which is why we need a player like Cirelli.
-
That’s what I’d figure. So give them a cheaper D man, a pick, and a prospect. Miller, Mitts, a pick.
-
TBL can’t keep everyone. Offer them Risto/Montour/Miller/McCabe + a pick + Mitts/ Asplund/ Pekar. Whatever gets it done. Time to stop overthinking it and get talent in here. As much as I appreciate the Hail Marys on Moulson, Leino, Johansson, Sheary, Frolik, Berglund, Sobotka, Vesey, Kahun and whoever else, it’s time to acquire actual talent.
-
Just do what needs to be done to get Cirelli. That’s all.

If Kyvin gets fired then who replaces him? The guy best at heating up frozen La Nova pizzas at KBC?

Sabres Announce Jeremiah Crowe as Director of Scouting
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Well thank God they didn’t go outside the box for these hires. Clearly hiring outside of the organization for 9 seasons hasn’t worked, so let’s promote people on the inside who have been part of the losing for these last 9 years. Next they could promote the tenured janitor to fly their private jet, and wonder why it didn’t work out when they crash. -
Screw them. I’m not about to feel bad for a team that’s won 71 Cups and was in the playoffs 36 straight seasons, when our miserable team has been around 50 years and hasn’t even been in a playoff game for the last 20% of its existence. And now the NHL wants to drum up some random improbable anomaly in a lottery to try and drum up interest in their sham Covid playoffs scenario? Every year we are always 3 years away. How is this even possible?

NHL Draft Lottery: Friday June 26th, 8pm EDT

The 8 teams that lose the first round of the PLAYOFFS all get a 12.5% chance. (I don’t care what moniker the NHL wants to give it - it’s playoffs). -

This is also where I got confused, because I thought I heard Kathryn Tappin say “the team that ends up 12th will now get the top pick.” -

I’m still hoping they have a spot for Tre White after all the fine work he’s done with the goaltending academy. -

Ah so I just misunderstood. I thought it was only for the 8 teams that were granted the privilege of a shot at the play in rounds. So you meant any of those 16 teams, not 8 as you wrote. -

Can someone with a better brain than mine explain what’s going on? I thought only the 8 teams that didn’t qualify for the playoffs but qualify for the play-in are the ones with the shot at the top pick? -

If this is true, it’s a knock on Ralphie. For some players, you have to let them play their game, and not try to fit them into a box. -
Victor Nechayev, 1982.

I thought it was gonna be called “The Krak House?”

Currently? No, there’s no hockey.

Me either. I thought he was from Smash Mouth.

If you were a fly in the wall, you probably wouldn’t be able to see or hear much. -
Not really a fan of the nickname “p-ham,” but would’ve been okay if it was “rum-ham.” Otherwise, I don’t have any opinions on the guy.
