  1. Figured this could be fun during this down time. 1. Jari Kurri 2. Cam Neely 3. Bob Probert 4. Kevin Stevens 5. Alex Ovechkin Honorable mentions - Sakic, Datsyuk, Hextall
  2. I thought Snyder has always been adamant about “NEVER” changing the name.
  3. Yeah, it’s pretty hard to beat that Jagr mullet.
  4. Idk. Batters seem to torch a slow pitch being tossed in a home run derby just about the same as a hanging fastball in a game. Also, my speculation is that the shot speed is going to be the same whether the puck is coming straight at a stick, or from the side, if point of release is identical - the flex/torque would still be originating from the same point. If Al Iafrate can shoot a motionless puck 104mph, I don’t think that speed is increasing with a moving puck coming at his stick. I could be wrong, just making guesses.
  5. What about a playoff team that traded a player two years ago, and got a first rounder in return, and ends up sitting in one of the top draft slots?
  6. I’d have to surmise the speed of the shot would not be negatively affected - maybe even the opposite. It’s not far off from a pitchers fastball flying off a baseball bat into the opposite direction. Would a baseball travel further if the ball was coming from the side of the batter?
  7. Sports aren’t done. You think Jimmy and Joes Restaurant is gonna open up down the street from you for business, and major sports aren’t going to?
  8. It’s a Canadian sport, and I assume their country has done better with the virus than the country that has done the absolute worst with it, despite a heads up.
  9. Of all the time I’ve wasted on this site, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comment I’ve agreed with more than this one.
  10. Maybe a silly question, but how is he able to vacate his position when the season “isn’t over” yet? Also, I worked with Chad momentarily at one of the sites...he actually gets credible inside info, unlike almost every blogger (and some on the books reporters).
  11. Maybe it’s referring to paying 3 GMs all at the same time, which is quite an incredible feat. If I understand correctly, Laaks is an offensive D that was asked to focus more on doing D this season. Maybe his numbers dipped because of it?
  12. There’s also Borgen and Bryson who seem to be coming along decently, as well as 6K, and Portillo just won an award of some sort. Laaksonen is still cooking in the oven. He did draft Dahlin, which everyone views as a gimme, but I don’t think that’s always the case. Sometimes that player ends up a Daigle.
  13. So then why do your proposed lines have Larry and TT on them?
  14. Where does Zemgus go? And TT is playing D now?
  15. Sorry but giving up one of our D plus a player like Mitts who isn’t gonna make it anyways, and an unknown pick isn’t going to “gut” our team. Our team already doesn’t have enough “guts,” which is why we need a player like Cirelli.
  16. That’s what I’d figure. So give them a cheaper D man, a pick, and a prospect. Miller, Mitts, a pick.
  17. TBL can’t keep everyone. Offer them Risto/Montour/Miller/McCabe + a pick + Mitts/ Asplund/ Pekar. Whatever gets it done. Time to stop overthinking it and get talent in here. As much as I appreciate the Hail Marys on Moulson, Leino, Johansson, Sheary, Frolik, Berglund, Sobotka, Vesey, Kahun and whoever else, it’s time to acquire actual talent.
  18. Just do what needs to be done to get Cirelli. That’s all.
  19. If Kyvin gets fired then who replaces him? The guy best at heating up frozen La Nova pizzas at KBC?
  20. How do you hold rights to a UFA?
  21. If he loses his love for the game, let him go...
  22. Stumbled across this earlier (not a rumor, just someone’s proposal):
  23. Well thank God they didn’t go outside the box for these hires. Clearly hiring outside of the organization for 9 seasons hasn’t worked, so let’s promote people on the inside who have been part of the losing for these last 9 years. Next they could promote the tenured janitor to fly their private jet, and wonder why it didn’t work out when they crash.
  24. Screw them. I’m not about to feel bad for a team that’s won 71 Cups and was in the playoffs 36 straight seasons, when our miserable team has been around 50 years and hasn’t even been in a playoff game for the last 20% of its existence. And now the NHL wants to drum up some random improbable anomaly in a lottery to try and drum up interest in their sham Covid playoffs scenario? Every year we are always 3 years away. How is this even possible?
