SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Andrew Amerk replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
Maybe we can get Cirelli for $1. I have heard that 30-50 goal scorers are on sale for that price once in awhile, and he’s not a 30 goal scorer. -
Did the AHL fold? Can’t believe CNN and Fox News both missed this.

Which leads to another question: is that something JBOTT was working towards/waiting for?

Pegula Sports Entertainment, behind the scenes
Andrew Amerk replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I bought some Exxon last week. They are still very low right now. -
Thank you for saying it better than I did ?

This is just bad drafting, or a poor attempt at a slingshot maneuver.

Are we in that coven of teams with the most space now? I thought we were somewhere like 5th for most salary last season - that’s quite a giant swing if we are among those with the most space suddenly.

SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Andrew Amerk replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
TBL has something like 1.2 in space right now, and Cirelli is $728,000 currently. Moving him out puts them at 2 million in cap space. Taking on Ristos 5.4 only further compounds the already existing problem in an even swap for the two. -
Without looking, I’m guessing the teams with the most cap space are the NJ’s and Detroit’s and Ottawa’s of the league. Im not sure how they’re going to convince players with NTC’s to leave a Cup contender for a current bottom feeder. It will be interesting to watch.

SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Andrew Amerk replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
Again, TBL is in the position to lose a Cirelli because they need to move salary OUT. They would not be in a position to take IN a contract like Ristos - or even Montours. -
Various experts saying Cozens is the top player not playing in the NHL right now are credible reasons why he should be in the NHL next year - and he’s not eligible for AHL. In the same vein, he shouldn’t be counted on to be our 2C next season either. Since we live in an analytics world now, it’s the projected translation of how many points he would score in the NHL based on his scoring in his current league.

Nah. Nothing a good ol’ Lindy stick to the noggin can’t fix.

SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Andrew Amerk replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
Nope. Too much. #8 and maybe a Borgen or Bryson or Johnson plus something else like Mitts, sure. -
I actually think it’s more improbable that Cirelli gets re-signed by TBL, and the reasons have been outlined.
-
I don’t think he looked unhappy - just bored not playing hockey.

Sabres Trade Alex Nylander to Chicago for D Man Henri Jokiharju
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Nope. -
Yes, the game has changed, but it hasn’t devalued the role of a “stay at home” defenseman.

I actually wanted the Sabres to pick Leon, and there’s probably old posts from me stating this that were laughed off. Oh well. Go get that 2C Kym! -
Yes. It means that when the Sabres resume play in December after 9 months of rest, and most of the other teams are coming off only 1-3 months rest, Buffalo can get off to a real hot start and flame out in February instead of December.

All 24 teams now considered qualified for playoffs
Andrew Amerk replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
I just think they should’ve picked their poison. Either you want to try and maximize protecting the players health (which means less teams, not more), or you are trying to maximize profits (which means all teams in - fans of Detroit and Buffalo are going to tune in even knowing their teams have no realistic shot).
