I actually think fans are going to be pleasantly surprised down the line. He’s not flashy, so he’s not notable/newsworthy. Just one of those D that goes out and does his job. I don’t recall anyone around here hating on Jay McKee just because he didn’t do figure 8’s or rack up points.

Based on what I was seeing in Rochester, he looks basically ready. I should also add that Samuelsson looks like he will be that “boring” D people are looking for, but in 2 years.

Probably fans of the 7 teams that didn’t make that cut, despite other teams arbitrarily getting in. Why does MTL deserve a shot any more than the Sabres do? Because they had 71 points in 71 games and Buffalo had 68 points in 69 games? Seems arbitrary.

I think if the league wanted to hold a Covid Cup, everyone should’ve been included, in fairness.

I think it’s wrong to assume the Sabres would’ve swept the floor with the other 6 teams on the way to claim that top pick. Weren’t we 1-3 against Ottawa?

So, in this scenario, the most talented team gets the top pick? Seems like the antithesis of how it’s supposed to work, but okay. Maybe we should give a playoff team the top pick while we are at it. The other 7 teams can come back and risk their health just to battle for picks 2-8. I’m sure the players would be super motivated.
