Maginot line might have worked if France had continued it all the way up to the Channel. Or at least it would have held for a little while. Perhaps it was a little short-sighted to think Germany wouldn't attack through Belgium. Again. :)
Doubtfull the french were attacking with bikes and WWI guns. Germans with tiger tanks :D
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the worst hockey team of all time. Not only will they not win any more games, they will not score any more goals the rest of the way either. Congrats Pegula.
I'm just excited to see the kids getting a chance to earn a spot on the team next year. Hope grigs gets healthy enough soon but think they'll sit him another game or two though.
-
You stay on your own side of the Maginot line
I'm from belgium, the maginot line is french/brit fail, we never believed in it :p
-
Listen to this guy — he's got more than 10,000 posts, he went to college, and HE DRIVES A ###### TANK!
(I got your back Blue, AND I'm trying to make Comrade Wild happy. When comes the adulation?)
pfft my tank scares little kids, what does his' do ? im not impressed :D
-
He can play in the AHL, but if he plays in game 10 w/ the crossed swords on his chest, he's got an NHL season under his belt.
Yeah i'd just have him finish his season in rochester :D

How can anyone think Grigorenko has a future on this team? He can't crack the lineup on what may be the worse team we have ever iced.
Our draft fate is in the hands of at least 12 guys who probably will never wear a Saber uniform again after this season. Just the way Murray wanted it I guess.
Don't be an idiot, Grigorenko sitting makes perfect sense. He has had one game since coming back, they don't want to lose him for the rest of the season to another injury.
Out of those 12 players atleast 6 will be back next year.
Edit: People dissing grigorenko just pisses me of to much :D

@MikeMiccoli: .@Real_ESPNLeBrun reports that Bruins offered Spooner & a 2nd for Chris Stewart in October, but Sabres wanted to wait for better offer. Oof.
Gambled that stewart would perform better i guess, but still i wouldn't have done that back then either.
-
If Grigorenko is going to be on the 4th line with... who even knows who is on the 4th line these days... keep him in Rochester. I hate seeing skill players put into roles that they are not meant for. (see also -- Cody Hodgson)
You do remember Nolan is the coach right ? He loves his "compete"
-
I'd scratch grigorenko on this first one, doubt he is up to speed yet after only one game.
-
I don't see Johnson being on the team beyond this season. He may be in Rochester but not here. I think Murray wants a clean slate at the position going into next season. Maybe he brings back one of Neuvirth/Enroth but I think at least one will be somebody who hasn't played here (Niemi, Subban, Smith from LA, Driedger/Lehner from Ottawa, Reimer/Bernier from Toronto, Allen/Elliot if St. Louis wants to change that position, Lack/Markstrom from Vancouver, etc...) there are tons of options.
Yeah just seen his press conference he pretty much said he was looking for trade partner with a backup goalie he thinks can be starters.

Meszaros is our tankcommander pal :p

I agree Yandle and Stewart aren't comparable because Yandle is a defenseman. I didn't refer to the other players so don't create a straw man argument.
Vermette and Stewart is a better comparison. Since the 2011-2012 season Vermette has scored 61 goals and Stewart has scored 56 goals. Vermette is 32 yrs. old to Stewart being only 27. Stewart is much younger, tougher and physically stronger (think playoff hockey). The biggest comparison is that Vermette yielded a 1st round pick and a prospect. Stewart only got a 2nd round pick 2 years out. I think the Coyotes did a better job than the Sabres. Murray was unable to trade Andrej Meszaros ,Andre Benoit, Tyson Strachan, Matt Ellis or Pat Kaleta for which he will receive nothing at the end of the season. I have been underwhelmed by Murray since he was hired and today only reinforced that idea.
(p.s. Boston gave up two 2nd round picks for Connolly from Tampa and he has only scored 18 goals since 2011-2012)
With pysyk out for god knows how long, all of the D needed to stay. Also a benoit meszaros pairing aids the tank.
I've been impressed with what murray got for the players at the deadline still.
Flynn is a career AHL'r, Mitchel a 4th liner. The neuvirth deal got us a good haul, and stewart a 2nd round pick. Wanting anything more makes you delusional.
Vermette brings so much more to a team than stewart, he is solid posession player with a good FO%
-
Well with johnson we got our back up for next year, allthough i'd rather see makarov get a shot there next year.
-
I think we got a solid return for stewart, didn't expect anything more than a 2nd rounder.
Minesota all your second round picks belong to us :p
-
Johnson's been playing well, too. .935 in five games in February.
Was thinking this might hurt our tank as well, he better put lindback in net.
-
I'll take that. I'd rather have a second in 2017 than a third/fourth in 2015.
Same
Not impressed with with Murray's moves today.
Don't think we could have gotten more out of it, He impressed me that he got 4 UFA's unloaded.
-
Well cant see stewart going to Montreal or boston anymore.
So guessing Nashville or the islanders, they probably can use neuvirth as well.
-
Only reason I knew what it meant is because of this song (which is catchy, dammit):
But I agree that it's really stupid that people feel a need to abbreviate something that's already short.
Well didn't know it was in that song even, Only thing my short attention span hears is something about riding a motorcycle :p
-
Bit surprising, but im not fussed about losing a 4th liner like most on this team are.
Remember when someone said Flynn reminded them of Jason Pominville?
Who the hell said that?
Don't worry he is on his meds again
-
###### it. We're still going to somehow turn Stewart into FUCALE!!!
Seems you are already asleep, sweet dreams :p
-
The bills should just gamble at a 3rd round QB pick during the draft.
-
Weekes saying Yandle is the price ufa D during this summer. Thought he had one more year on his contract ?
-
I'm old... And white. I don't know when I first read bae but it's profoundly stupid. It certainly doesn't mean 'before anything else'.

I don't consider myself old, but i do find it retarded as well. Being used over here to btw.

My jerseys were/are:
Drury
Briere
Roy
Pominville
Vanek
Myers
If i would buy a jersey, i'd just have them put my name on it or nothing at all. :p
Free Agents this summer, who should Sabres pursue and why.

If im looking for players i think will improve our team.
On defense there is only a short list.
Just looking for a partner for Bogo.
#1 Erhoff, I can really see him wanting to come back if we draft Mcdavid. I never got the feeling he didn't like buffalo.
#2 Sekera
#3 Beauchemin
If these guys don't sign, I'd just bring up McCabe a year earlier.
Right Wing
#1 Justin williams: The best of a RW ufa line up, St louis will stay a ranger, and Jagr is pretty much done i think.
#2 Fehr depth signing
#3 Stempniak as a depth signing
#4 Chris Stewart / Drew stafford : I can live with either as #3 RW option.
RFA's
Maybe Silverberg for Grigorenko + 2nd round pick trade. I'd cry a bit but would be a good move, probably won't get him though. <--- this should be our best option.
