  1. At what point do we cut bait with this guy? Is the seemingly-constant headache worth it?

Get rid of him and let him be someone else's problem.

He is 20 years old, and very talented, you don't just throw that away, unless he is part of getting you a current top 6 NHL player.

  2. Also at the start of the year murray said he wanted to see if Grigorenko was a great, good, or bad prospect.

And the only way to do that was give him the 1C job in Rochester and play him in all situations.   And he needed the icetime to make up for the mistakes made with him over last two seasons.

I think murray wanted to see how he responded to the icetime he got down in Rochester, and i believe he might think he is a good prospect at this point, but not a great one.

Also with this depleted roster in rochester he should get even more ice time down there.

  3. The way i see it.

Grigorenko has no problem on the defensive side of things in the NHL and his fo % can become the best on this team.

I wanted him to be up here for the remainder of the games getting good icetime while getting a feel on how to create more offense.

But the way things are going and him not being waiver excempt anymore, they'll sign him and might decide there is no room for him on this team.

Wich would be sad because even as a 3C there might be hope for him.

  4. I think he is gone in the offseason though, Murray will trade him for sure.

There simply isn't room on this roster for him if we got Cojack - Reinhart - Girgensons - Larsson down the middle.

I expect Murray to use him as trade bait, just wish Nolan would should up about him, he is hurting his market value.

  5. In Friedman's 30 thoughts he says that the Sabres may have interest in Niemi:

    18. The Sabres are expected to look at some youthful options, but if they chase a veteran, it’s believed they have interest in unrestricted free agent Antti Niemi. If that doesn’t work, would Kari Lehtonen be a fit? Lindy Ruff is going to have a stroke if this continues and Jim Nill talked in this space about how difficult Lehtonen finds the adjustment on a better defensive team as opposed to a porous one. He could could help the Sabres, because while Buffalo hopes to improve, it’s unlikely they would be airtight.

I think Neuvirth will be back for sure, probably with makarov as his back up.

  6. I'm good with Larsson and Deslauriers as two-thirds of our fourth line next year.

Also Grigorenko looks like he has adjusted to the speed and strength of the game.

Looks conscientious in our zone and actually threw a few hits and won a few battles.

His skill will start to show. I think playing out the string will be good for him going into next year.

The game wasn't horrible to watch. The result was what most would want at this time of year.

Check marks to pretty much everything I care about.

That is what makes the remainder of this season tolerable.   Seeing the kids grow up :D

  7. I don't think he's cut out to be a 3C, unless we are using our 3rd line like Ruff did with Vanek-Roy-Max.

I think he is defensively sound enough as a 3C, don't know if he can produce enough to crack a top 6 spot but we'll see.

  8. The only good thing about facing some of these teams is being bubble teams, they will be playing for their lives.

I hope Grigorenko has a great showing.  He keeps improving every time he comes up.  At this rate I am not sure I want him traded any longer.  He could be the perfect 3rd line center with the option of using him on the 2nd line and 2nd pp.  I will continue to cheer for this kid to make it.

four season-long Amerks (Phil Varone, Grigorenko, Johan Larsson and Matt Ellis) were the Sabres’ centers in practice Thursday.

I'm excited to see him play the remainder of the season with the sabres.    Won't watch tonight though.   first friday night im not working in 2015, I'm getting drunk :D

  9. That's 3-2 Coyotes! They blow a 2-0 lead late, and had THREE breakaways in OT, but manage to pull it out in the shootout. They were wearing those crazy old jerseys too.

Honestly, they in no way looked like a team that is worse than the current Sabres. The Canucks needed this win and the Yotes won it.

    This makes me happy :D

  10. I've said before, there is no way that we are starting 3 rookie centers at the beginning of the season.

edit- And no ###### way we start 4 rooks.

You keep saying it, but we don't want to hear it :D

It doesn't hurt to add more though. Plus Simmonds can score consistently, and the RW UFA list is ugly. Simmonds, IMO, is a dream scenario for

Silverberg might be a cheaper option.

  11. At some point being the key words, not at every point. He walked out when things got tough. He signed a 1 year deal in the off-season and is doing nothing for Pittsburgh, I would be surprised if anyone signed him to a contract over 3mill this off-season. Has anyone who wants to sign him again seen him play in pitty?

lol they love him in pittsburgh, they want to keep him longer.

  12. Why is there so much talk about Ehrhoff? Buying him out was one of Murray's first offseason moves and he essentially admitted to dogging it because we were bad. There is no way he even thinks about coming back here... Murray isn't going to throw stupid money at him, he's already shown he's not willing to pay a lot for Ehrhoff.

Just realized that I left out captain off my projected roster...

Lol yeah he "admitted" to dogging it,  I don't know where this is coming from, he went down with a bad team i saw him admit to that, never ever he said he did stink on purpose.

Get me an interview of him saying he mailed it in all season long otherwise stop talking .

The guy is the best UFA option out there for us, deal with it, and he always liked buffalo, that is something I did see him actually say.

  13. If im looking for players i think will improve our team.

On defense there is only a short list.

Just looking for a partner for Bogo.

#1 Erhoff, I can really see him wanting to come back if we draft Mcdavid.   I never got the feeling he didn't like buffalo.

    #2 Sekera

    #3 Beauchemin

If these guys don't sign, I'd just bring up McCabe a year earlier.

    Right Wing

#1 Justin williams:  The best of a RW ufa line up, St louis will stay a ranger, and Jagr is pretty much done i think.

    #2 Fehr depth signing

#3 Stempniak as a depth signing

#4 Chris Stewart / Drew stafford :  I can live with either as #3 RW option.

    RFA's

Maybe Silverberg for Grigorenko + 2nd round pick  trade.   I'd cry a bit but would be a good move, probably won't get him though.  <--- this should be our best option.

  14. Maginot line might have worked if France had continued it all the way up to the Channel. Or at least it would have held for a little while. Perhaps it was a little short-sighted to think Germany wouldn't attack through Belgium. Again. :)

Doubtfull the french were attacking with bikes and WWI guns.   Germans with tiger tanks :D

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the worst hockey team of all time. Not only will they not win any more games, they will not score any more goals the rest of the way either. Congrats Pegula.

I'm just excited to see the kids getting a chance to earn a spot on the team next year.   Hope grigs gets healthy enough soon but think they'll sit him another game or two though.
