  1. vs chicago Tyler Ennis SHG

vs. anaheim (1:5 - oct 13) I went to bed when it was 0:4

I have seen 324:34 consecutive minutes of sabres hockey without seeing them score a goal if my math is correct.

    41:20 vs. Chicago

    43:14 vs. Anaheim

and 4x60 minutes in those other games...

Game is at 11pm. The US had their time adjusments last night...

ah damn, oh well its two hours earlier.

  2. Warning

The last 4 games I got up for at night.

    0:5 vs. PIT

    0:4 vs. TOR

    0:4 vs. BOS

    0:1 vs. FLA

What I mean by that is that there is a chance that I am going to watch tonights game. I might turn it off after the first period though since I gotta work tomorrow. So you probably should all just skip the first period and wait until I go to bed and stop watching...

hah yeah, but you have to watch its 22.00 pm game start for us, we don't get that many pal.

  3. I could care less how he talks in public. That has absolutely zero to do with my opinion of him.

My opinion is based solely on how he has run his organization since the day he has bought it. And that is like dog ######.

He is out of his league as a professional sports owner. He will learn from his mistakes -I hope - but for anyone to be proud or accept the condition of this franchise is nuts.

This team did not need to be torn down to this level.

To me he did all the right things and hired a great GM to clean up the mess the last one created.

Cleaning up mess takes some time.

Do miss Lindy ruff though :(

  4. Everyone continues to dismiss Makarov when I bring him up. I think he's got the best raw goalie talent for his age in the organization right now. And he thrives when he's getting a lot of work.

Oh i have always had him as our future #1, just love his quick glove, he sometimes makes saves that remind me of miller.

  5. I don't see a problem with giving him the 9 games. At least this way Reinhart knows without a doubt that he is not playing in the NHL this year because he can't handle. He won't be bothered by some idea in the back of his head that he could have made the Sabres this year if he had just been given a chance. He is now completely aware of his deficiencies in the strength department, and that knowledge will hopefully motivate him to do the necessary off-ice work that will allow him to stick with the Sabres next season.

A hockeybuzz member quote i completely agree with.

Edit: I may have seemed a bit harsh on Samson, hell i had more faith in grigs even, but if grigs needed to work on his strenght than Samson certainly does.

And what i like about both guys, they are both crushed not playing for the sabres, they want it so bad. Hell Samson even said he was hoping to become a sabre when he was drafted.

I hope management can make it as hard as possible on them so we can see some very motivated centres next year.

  6. A defenseman's job is exactly that...the last line of DEFENSE. Chances are that the guy who he was chasing was not going to score from along the boards.

He was taking a look at the boards as the pass was coming to Marchand. You are okay with that?

The problem since last year are the forwards not backchecking and helping out the defense when needed, but i guess you are okay with that ?

  7. I think Kaleta is a fine piece for this year's team and I wouldn't be pissed if he gets a one-year deal to move around between the press box, 4th line and Rochester next year. Beyond that? No thank you.

I dissagree on this, he is an excellent 4th liner and Penalty killer on a good team.

He has the speed to put up between 10 - 15 points on a good team.

  8. "Sometimes there's just that chemistry that hits," said Michael Futa, Kings vice president of hockey operations and director of player personnel. "[Toffoli and Pearson] are kids that were knocked initially for their skating. They've worked on their conditioning, their pace. … and when they threw Carter there in the middle, everything seemed to click all at once. Jeff is an incredibly responsible player who plays the game at an incredible pace. It's not too often you have a line where they're all really dangerous shooters. And the puck really flies off all their sticks. You have to be aware of their pace, of their work ethic on the wall and the fact that they could be shooting from everywhere.

lets hope grigorenko and armia become our pearson and toffoli.

  9. lol can't believe how wrong i was on so many levels about this season, expected him to show up and build on last season for some reason

If everybody is blind then how do we know he has an eye? Maybe he's lying. We should gouge it out just to be sure.

    Poke it with a stick

  10. Smallest game day thread ever? Why am I watching this? Buying tickets even??? If we don't get one of the McEichel I am going to haunt every tanker here.

last season some didn't make it to page 3 :P

thank god i was at work , so i wouldn't be tempted to stay up untill 04.00 am for this one.

  11. Draisaitl is staying up with the Oilers... we should do the opposite of what they do so send Reinhart down.

That is because the oilers don't have anything better at 2C, and management there want to make the playoffs.

    but yeah send samson down.

  12. He looked fine and Nolan said so as well. I think the reason he isn't getting playing time has more to do with Nolan not wanting to undermine his whole "rewarding effort" thing.

That ship has sailed with meszaros and benoit still playing.

  13. http://www.sportsnet...t-all-to-blame/

    11. Thought Boston and/or Philadelphia, both short defencemen, might look at Buffalo’s Andrej Meszaros. He’s on a one-year deal and has played in both cities, but it doesn’t sound as if either looked at it. He’s at $4.125 million, which may explain the problem for a pair of cap-tight clubs.

That is no issue when we retain salary, but why would they want him, he hasn't shown anything yet.
