  1. What people fail to realize is that we really need a super stud in this upcoming draft. The problem I see right now moving forward is goal scorers.. Right now they really don't have any snipers in the system.

I think Armia and Hodgson make excellent snipers.

  2. I think we've been over this before, but this pumpkin beer craze is just out of control. I went to my local craft beer shop yesterday and there were more pumpkin beers than I've ever seen. I can't believe that there is such a great demand for this style. I can appreciate a well done pumpkin beer, but 6 oz. and I'm done, there's no way I'm drinking a few pints or a six pack of the stuff.

Yeah not many can drink more than 4 of most fruit beers.

This is considered to be the best brand over here.

  3. Turmoil in the Shire.

+1 You get an internet point from me :D

Grigorenko looks terrible...... Kaleta is in mid season form, enroth very strong... I like the play from Gionta, and the EMS line is clicking well

I haven't seen anything from Samson this game

All the comments i read about his game today are opposite of what you say :P

Ted Nolan was Quoted, "gregorenko was strong again"

  4. Yeah that's true. I really hope I'm wrong but you look at Arizona they lost their goal scorers this offseason and were already hurting for goals. Yes they picked up Gagner and Domi will probably make the team this year but who knows how much they can contribute. I just think the NHL would love to help out a struggling fanbase and with Darcy there it would be Karma if he landed the player he wanted that ended up costing him his job. (Not pinning the total rebuild on him but his inability to get the job done is what I should have said).

They do have solid defense though, two stud defensman who provide alot of the offense.

  5. I agree with you somewhat but I thought Grig's did look alot better. His skating is better. You can't really look too much into that game last night because most of players that suited up for Buffalo won't be in the lineup come the start of the season.

I would like to see reinhart on his wing for one game but that is just me, Also i have said many times i think both will have different paths this year.

Reinhart will get his 9 games and mostly like gets send back.

Grigorenko will start out in Rochester, but if he keeps improving like this they will bring him up on a top 6 role.

  6. 10. Daniel Sprong, RW – Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL): Born in Amsterdam, Sprong came to Canada for the competition and he’s still lighting it up. The super-smart winger has a cracking shot and a solid frame.

I think we'll need this one , we are going to be very short on RW.

  7. Here's my takes on the game:

It was a tad unfair in the disparity between the rosters but Buffalo certainly fought valiantly.

Benoit- he might be the best depth defenseman we've had in years. Looked smooth with his skating and in the last 3 minutes looked exceptional in the offensive end.

Risto- Looks like a vet most of the time, made a smart play when racing Ward to the loose puck, pinched at good times, made few mistakes, and made some very nice behind the net plays

Grigs- certainly looks better then he had in the past, skates far harder and was actually using his body to protect the puck, very good signs of maturity in his case and was a faceoff master

Zadorov- didn't wow in the first two periods, didn't screw up a ton either though, 3rd period he looked more like the Zadorov we are used to, hitting and skating around in the offensive zone to help with the cycle

Reinhart- didn't wow me, however that being said, he certainly didn't look lost out there by any means, mentally I think he's NHL caliber already but I still worry about his frame, wasn't jumpy with passes either

    Others:

Lieuwen looked very good out there, overall there wasn't any bad play persay and AHL/Junior Sabres only lost 1-0 to NHL/a few prospects Capitals, Holtby played goalie in 2nd and 3rd

Been saying for a while now, we have nobody in our system who is so good on the face off as him. He really is a natural center.

  8. Why is this? We're talking about a couple of 26 year olds. Miller was 26 when he established himself. IMO, the chances are very high that one of these kids steps it up to that next level. I'm excited about the Sabres' goaltending going into the season. Sure, there is always a chance of it ending up as a tire fire, that to me is "unlikely."

Neuvirth can be a beast, if he can remain injury free.

Now i need to find a Grigorenko jersey over here, :P

  9. The guy between Larsson and a roster spot is Flynn. Flynn and Larsson would likely have similar roles. If Reinhart makes the team it gets interesting because the battle for the #4 center spot becomes Cody and Flynn, and they have very different assets to bring. And if Reinhart doesn't make the team Larsson still has to beat out Flynn for the #3 center spot.

Grigorenko isn't a factor in there anywhere.

    This,

was wondering why people are comparing larsson for a spot with Grigorenko. They are not competition, Grigorenko needs to be good enough for a top 2 center position. Larsson will never be viewed for more than 3rd line.

  10. I'm not certain his game translates into an NHL center. He may be more adept at playing on the wing.

I got that about him to.

And I expect myers to excell with gorges next to him, they have put him in a position to succeed.

    Hogdson is done as center.
