Yeah, it's scripted PR nonsense for the most part. But there were a couple things I took from it.

Lindy sound bite on culture. He clearly thinks the locker room is immature.

The constant use of the word 'intelligence'. Methinks they really disliked cozens mental makeup.

Still from 2019 draft, not sure besides Boldy and Caufield if there are players we could have picked better behind Cozens.

Time will show how he adapts in Ottawa, but his first minor stint showed the same flaws as in Buffalo.   Maybe he needs a summer to adjust.

As for Norris,  He is a 2C for me , hope he doesn't get injured too much.   A 70 game season with 60 points  is probably a win for us

No, that's not true. What I'm saying is Utah wasn't very good and he didn't play much so there's nothing to indicate he can be a top 6 forward yet. That's all. There's no evidence he is anything. He MIGHT be, but he might not. Penciling him in for a top 6 role at this point seems silly.

Utah also has a lot of the same type of players like josh doan.

JJP might thrive there just because he can focus on offense while his line mates can cover up his sloppy defense.

    This is my point.

Doan and Peterka are the same age (about a month apart) and JJP has 238 games to Doan's 62.

Doan and Kulich have the same level of experience and similar production, except Kulich is 2 years younger.

To me, Doan has no where near the upside of either JJP or Kulich.  He may have the potential to be a 40 pt player on the 3rd line and produce solid two way play, but that's all we are likely to get out of him.  Unlike JJP and Kulich who are or should be core players, guys like Doan are replaceable.  To me Doan and guys like him are a dime a dozen and easily found and easily replaced.  I don't think his acquisition moves this team forward an inch.  Hopefully he pulls a McLeod and proves me wrong.

By the way, you can't really just discuss what Doan is without the context of who he is replacing in the lineup.  It maybe unfair to Doan to ask or expect him to fill JJP's offensive shoes, but such is life.

If you just look at production no, but if you can look at how many goals he will prevent being on the ice instead of JJP, it will be somewhat positive

See you in possibly 3 years, hopefully the AHL coaches will be better at developing you as we don’t need another Power here.

He is not that bad 🙃 - Really should see improvement of him with Kessering ( if they don't put him with Dahlin).

@dudacek some context? (but not really.)

Yup , and I got heat in another thread for saying Owen Power was better, advanced stats showed that long time ago.

How are we in the middle of the pack for cap space remaining? Our roster is not representative of a team with only 7.39 million left (which won't be used anyway). Make it make sense. I know you can't but I'm losing it man!

Isn't Skinner on the books for like 6 mill this year ?

That was arguably the only good goalie on the market available for trade; that being said trading for him would of made Levi next to impossible to re-sign and Adams doesn’t exactly look at a 3D, much less a 4D, map.

Yeah but Levi has value still in any trade, and lets say Levi comes and is better than him, you can still get same value back for Svilos.

Im sure we thinking the same, but im drunk and well ***** you kevyn.

  7. Look if I'm manager I approach every player like this.

This Is Dhalin, Top 5 D in NHL, took a team friendly deal.   He will be your captain.   Below him we got Power locked up, he is in the top 20.

Now here comes Byram into play, he is not top 20, but In some ways he fits Dhalin, we now have Kesserling, who can be with Power for , but also can fit Dhalin.
Adams is not doing much wrong here.  Also a good fith wiht Power was johnson I believe.

So Byram take the 7 mill deal, or go to the palm trees please 😛

  8. I don't think Calgary or LA are our trade partners,  I still think Blues with Kyrou or Vegas that has too many forwards and would ship us 2 just for cap relief.

Hell I would say to people telling me what would you want out of Vegas for Byram ?

Dorofoyev  + 1st round pick + Pietrangelo 50% retained (probably not possible seeing he is injured ? )

    or

    Dorofoyev + Whitecloud

Dorofoyev + Karllson + 2nd round pick for Byram.

  9. You know up until he started talking about McLoed I was thinking , dude is just unsure and don't know what he is doing.
    After McLoed

But then he can talk about the only deal he did well, he had some confidence, yeah this guy is not it.   The simple honesty is not there, in my work life I love when people below or above me own up to their mistake and say, man you were right and I will do the same.

A boss or someone below me like him, I would never trust.
