  1. With injuries, we're throwing out a ridiculously young team for this game. Average age of the 20 we'll dress tonight is 25:

    • Forward average age = 24.8 (without Gionta 23.9)
    • Defense = 25
    • Goalies = 26

By way of relative comparison, that's over a year younger than the next youngest team and over 2.5 years younger than the league average.

    We got the future :D

  2. You know, Stewart could be a useful player on a good team.

He just needs to be paired with a Toews or a Kopitar who can get him the puck in open ice and hide his defensive flaws.

I wouldn't mind giving stewart 3x4mill deal, he can add some thoughness to this team and protect the kids.

By the time that contract finishes, our kids wil have arrived for there payday.

  3. The US draws the group of death with Australia, Sweden and Nigeria in the Woman's World Cup, all four teams were the top ranked seed in their pod. Canada has a tough group, Germany and Japan get a free pass.

The lottery was very well done, every ball was drawn, opened and read in front of the cameras, no possibility for shenanigans.

That is how it is always done, i don't get why they don't do it with the nhl draft to.

  4. THURSDAY’S PRACTICE

    26 Matt Moulson – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 63 Tyler Ennis

    21 Drew Stafford – 65 Brian Flynn – 12 Brian Gionta

    44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 82 Marcus Foligno – 36 Patrick Kaleta

    19 Cody Hodgson – 80 Chris Stewart <-----

    4 Josh Gorges – 57 Tyler Myers

    51 Nikita Zadorov – 55 Rasmus Ristolainen

    61 Andre Benoit – 41 Andrej Meszaros

    1 Jhonas Enroth

    34 Michal Neuvirth

Well i hope they call grigs back up and slot him in between coho and stewart, they had something going and i want their trade value to go up :D

  5. With Grigorenko, I also think he played just fine, and safe, and whatnot. But I'm really leaning on him becoming a solid #2 center at least, because I don't see who else we can bank on slotting in there between Reinhart and Girgensons. It was only one game, but soon I'd like to see any trace of an ability to score regularly out of him, and I will be worried about center depth until we see it.

Yeah me to, but was his first game back , and he didn't get a single decent pass thrown at him all game by his linemates.

  6. I know you're all about Grigorenko, but that game couldn't have helped your opinion of him

Fair enough, but its his first game and defensively he didn't stink much, and everytime he tried to break out in the neutral zone either the passing was awefull to him or he still needs to adjust to the NHL speed a bit.

  7. The play is a little faster than what Grigorenko usually sees, I say that because I see him looking and reacting instead of being where he needs to immediately. Still he is playing a okay game thus far.

    yup

He has been good defensively though, but offense he has to get back up to speed. Limited ice time is best here.
