Missing poster formation; the lost please check in

Does SDS really run this show? He just drops in every now and again to tell us no to super Eichel threads and to state his hilarious take on Swords of 1000 men as our goal song. Freeman has been by far more involved in the politics thread and the closings thereof. There can't be a difference between current events and politics. It's not possible. -

http://www.indiewire.com/2016/12/rogue-one-peter-cushing-dead-special-effects-ethical-1201760566/ Article about CGI Tarkin. It has different POVs from a bunch of different critics. My point of view mostly aligns with Ehrlich's. -

Denial is an amazing film that captures the political landscape of 2016 perfectly. It's about a Jewish Studies professor (played by Rachel Weisz) who is forced to prove that the Holocaust actually occured in court. The following could be construed as spoilers, but it's more or less the jumping off point of the movie. I don't think reading this will ruin the experience for anyone. I cannot reccomend this movie enough, and it pains and angers me that I'm not even sure if it's kosher to talk about the subject matter on this board. But, holy god, is it important. -

I think that at least some of that quirkiness comes from the fact that the original trilogy was telling a pretty simple action/adventure story. Every Star Wars movie since then was created with the weight of Star Wars's culture importance on its back, so that simple charm and quirkiness is lost. Also, in the 70s it was wayyyy easier for a director to build an entire world for characters to inhabit. Post 9/11 cinema is very rooted in realism and consequence, so it's much harder to achieve that sort of escapism. -

My girlfriend is making 2 lists, wide release top 10 and limited release top 10. I think that definitely makes the lists much more accessible. I, however, don't wanna put that much thought into so here's my list of a bunch of indie flicks. -

The closing of every single politics thread is in and of itself a political statement. Why do the mods get to have a political voice and the board doesn't? Just deleting all the threads isn't moving forward any conversation. There is no waiting period that will elapse when Donald Trump will stop being a polarizing figure. This is the world we live in for the next 4 years. Please stop trying to stop us from talking about the world we live in with people that we care about. -

And for every shrader wet blanket post, there were 7 posts of pure praise. 26 is indeed a strange fellow. -
ROR does not have upside. He is what he is, a no BS first liner who can shut other teams down. The extra 1.5 mil is for shutting dudes down.

I'm glad Dan is done with Zemgus forever and Moulson gets to weigh Jack down 5 on 5 no matter how many games he does absolutely nothing.

Definitely more than a little odd hahaha. Yeah I see a lot of movies. My girlfriend works part time at regal so I get to see nearly every major release for free. For indie releases, we drive up to Ithaca and eat delicious Thai or Indian food and then go to Cinemapolis. God bless Ithaca, the bastion of culture in the Southern Tier. -

I think Star Wars needs to get over George Lucas's daddy issues. Not every character needs to be pidgeonholed into having uncertain parentage/legacy angst. In fact, Star Wars needs to try some new character traits in general. -

The Witch is an incredible period piece. If you're interested in 17th century New England, you MUST see this movie. Unlike most period pieces, it's also a horror film. It's a genre mixing masterpiece that leaves the audience doubting what they know and what they've seen. I remember watching the Shining and thinking that Danny is the greatest child performance of all time. The Witch comes in and casually drops 4 incredible child performances all at the same time. Not just that, they're also using period language and still expressing a wide range of emotion. The Witch! Ahh I gotta re-watch it tonight. -
I think even Flagg is underrating Samson. He's gonna be good, scary good.

Top 10 movies that came out this year: 1) The Witch 2) The Lobster 3) Nocturnal Animals 4) Denial 5) Moonlight 6) Edge of 17 7) Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping 8) Nerve 9) Finding Dory 10) Arrival HM: Deadpool; Christine; Hail, Ceasar! ; and The Handmaiden Still have a few movies left to see this year. I could definitely see Fences and Jackie shaking up the entire list. I really hope they do. -
I don't want Samson hitting and grinding on the wall. I want him in the middle of the ice dishing the puck. Why not try O'Reilly on Samson's wing? O'Reilly can play center in the defensive zone if need be and then Samson can actually have a quality winger to play with.

Originally I was just as mad at Rogue One as I was at Dr. Strange. But at least Rogue One had a heart and an idea. And it was wayyyy better than Juriassic World and Independence Day 2: Electric Boogaloo. The shotmaking and editing was not good, though, which is pretty unforgivable with the amount of money they had to throw at this movie. I don't understand why they put so much money into Tarkin. The uncanny valley effect hit me really hard. Why not just call up Charles Dance? -

If only we could re-sign Kane at ~3 mil. Having Larsson and Kane on our third line long term would be incredible. Unfortunately, I think Kane finds more elsewhere in free agency. -
I agree with Koomkie. Tapping your stick is not something you want to do when you're set up in the offensive zone. On this play, it was a rush during wide open 3 on 3. Risto banging his stick wasn't going to make JT somehow miraculously gain 4 strides on him. It did, however, ensure that Okposo saw him and executed. Man what an amazing play from all 3 Sabres. O'Reilly started it with the beautiful stick check that neutrualized Tavares and caused him to lose his balance. Then Okposo carried it in and made the perfect play to get Risto the puck in the space that O'Reilly created. Then Risto with the sick finish. Awww yisss.

I don't think I've ever seen it spelled like that.
