A good goaltender prospect. Problem is, goalie development is almost impossible to predict and often takes several years. So you might as well pick up a goalie in rounds 4-7 every year. Nobody's faster than you, but I'm not.

He's a good depth plug and play bottom 6 guy for MTL. Has the speed to fit their identity. Let's see if he can ride the wave to a contract.

If those previous trades were questionable (ie Murray didn't get the value he should have), why are you also worried about him holding out for a king's ransom? Those two issues are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

He's a goalie. No the problem is between his ears. He's not exactly of this world.

Great building block? He's a big speedy guy with some nice mitts. He doesn't consistently win battles or crush opponents with his defense. Long term, he's a 3rd liner. Getting traded to a contender wouldn't indicate any bad blood between him and the Sabres. If he wants to re-sign here, I'm sure he would prefer to play for a contender in the playoffs and net us more assets.

Montreal fans *would* sour on a goalie prospect that hasn't developed yet. They're a buncha fickle frenchies!
