Awesome! Best time to buy gear: End of ski season/summer. I'll give recommendations if you like. Best time to hit Whiteface: right now. End of February/beginning of March is always the best time for ski trips on the east coast. The mountains are filled in and everything is finally open. I skied in 5 states last season from February to April. Whiteface truly is a gem. The terrain rivals any mountain from Sugarloaf to Jay Peak to Smugglers' Notch and Stowe. Plus Lake Placid is a great vacation town. Love it! Let me know where you're thinking of going in VT. Chances are I've been there.(northern VT is more challenging and less crowded, Southern VT has their grooming perfected, but NYC empties out into southern VT on the weekend) Oh and if you do go to New Hampshire, yeah, Cannon is awesome. Franconia Notch is beautiful! Plus, Cannon is one of only 2 resorts in the east with a tram.

Destroyed the Mets. That series was never in doubt. Not for one second. From 98 until they lost to the Diamondbacks, I never had any doubts on if they would win. It just seemed like they had it in the bag. Then in 03 I was actually nervous. Arizona shook my faith. Yasiel Puig is still unsigned less than a month from opening day. With Judge and Stanton hurt(as per usual, it'll happen again btw), and the fact that Clint Frazier can't catch a cold. Should the Yankees take a flier on him? His batting line from last year is super average, and his fielding is slightly sub par these days. I'm not advocating a long term contract. But if the price is right, could it hurt? I'm looking at you @WildCard

My old car had been paid off for quite a while. It was pretty darn nice. But it was time. She was 13 years old and I had put 137k on her. 3 out of 4 door lock actuators were shot, needed 2 new tire pressure sensors, and the tires weren't going to pass inspection come August. So I said f* it, can't be bothered with $900 in maintenance, let's drop $20 grand. That's reasonable, right? I'm a mess.

I was going to ask you about crashed ice. I'll concede if they are skating back up the entry ramp. From my vast expertise in watching crashed ice about 6 times, I'd put the drop in ramp at just under 45 degrees. Except for the ones with a legit 3 foot drop. Those I don't recon that they are skating up.

Maybe if you're standing at a hockey stop position and dug in. I took it as they are playing hockey and we just started tilting the rink.

I say no way they could get the angle up to 50 degrees before they slide to the other side. The average run of the mill beginner ski slope is about 15 degrees. The ice rink is obviously 0 degrees. Intermediate slopes hit about 25ish degrees. 37 degrees is steep. 50 degrees? and an ice rink to boot? That would be an elevator shaft.

For sure. They can't just let Ottawa throw bombs at the empty net.
