Ugghhhh . You can see the players shoulders shrug after that softie. Like they’ve seen this movie before -
That’s an interesting question. There are parts of Toronto where they are vaccinating 16 +. I’ll assume if the player lives in that postal code he can get vaccinated. However, I would have thought an NHL team would get all vaccinated at once. Now the Canucks are knee deep in it , like the Sabres were at one time. Think they are dealing with the variant as well. Sounds like a few of their players are extremely sick. However, I don’t think that’s been confirmed. ... just rumours

when healthy, there were only 4 forwards in the entire league that got more Hart trophy votes than he did - but no, not good enough to play on Team Canada

Now let’s add Cozens and Borgen into this mix. Love the youth leading the way! Learn to win without Eichel and then bring him back at 100%. Things could turn fast next season won’t be able to start soon enough -
More on Guenther https://sports.yahoo.com/dylan-guenther-top-ten-2021-173215593.html

Thank you.

I think he still has a way to go but it i thought it was a ":bump" for him as its another example that it takes time for these guys to reach their potential. Im on the Dahlin train as well, eventually will be the most important and best player on the team.

Looks like Chychrun has broken out and has that " future Norris trophy winner" look to him Not to bring up the 2016 draft again but there were many of us on this site who wanted the Sabres to take Sergachev or Chychrun. Chychrun is breaking out at 23, Rasmus is (or will be soon) 21. I believe it will be sooner rather than later that we see Rasmus look like the Dman we all envisioned. As for this years draft, its exactly the reason why I don't draft Powers. Not that he won't be great, they just cant afford to wait 5 years for him to develop.

https://dobberprospects.com/podcast/draftcast-31-taking-a-look-around-the-whl-with-joel-henderson/ fast forward to 35 min mark to hear a bit about Guenther. Here are a couple of his attributes: "good in tough areas, good play maker, always a threat, size and smarts. Not afraid to move into high traffic areas." "jack of all trades but not just avg at all traits, he is really good at all of them" "not a guy who is a burner, he is a guy that is matching pace and manipulating pace" "comparable to Dylan Cozens, plays really hard, a guy you want in the playoffs"
-
Thanks! Can I infer that you prefer Eklund to Guenther as a Sabre pick at this point?
-
i feel 90% confident that either Guenther or Beniers will be a Sabre next year. I would venture to guess that most teams near the bottom would lean D over F, so its unlikely both are gone if Sabres draft 3rd. Am i wrong that CGY , LAK, NJD, DET, OTT and ANA would look at Power as their #1 target? Detroit and Ottawa are the only ones i think there could be a debate about

Not sure to be honest. Who are comparables? I’d take guys like this in UFA over guys that can cost $9 million plus.
-
2 UFA’s I’d be interested Hyman and Laughton
-
All other goalies 22 decisions - 5 points.

Here is a paragraph “I thought he was better than people gave him credit for at the world juniors, he then impressed in the Sabres’ training camp and he has been fine in the AHL. So this has more to do with where he was picked and the play of those selected immediately after him than it does him playing poorly in an admittedly small sample size.” wheeler had him at 15 prior to the draft , so has never been a big fan of him. Think the article has to be taken with a grain of salt

I would hope he would play well enough next season to be one of their call-ups due to injuries but most of his time should be playing in all key roles in Rochester.
