  1. good god, lets hope we are talking about him constantly as Sabre fans
  2. He won't
  3. at least we can all agree that they need to draft a forward. Only fly in the ointment i can see at this time is Brandt Clark, if you think he is a Jamie Drysdale/Makar/Quinn type who can contribute to an NHL club much quicker than the Hedman/Dahlin/Nurse mold of D that can take a few years.
  4. You make it sound like this team is flush with wingers. Yes , hopefully they can get Berniers but if not the wingers will be a nice consolation prize
  5. I wouldn't once you get past the top 5 or 6 picks in most drafts, in becomes a crap-shot at best. Take the best forward available at 3, IMHO. Its not like the cupboard is stock full at wing. what he said!
  6. unless I am missing someone the next two centers after Berniers are: 1) Kent Johnson who played wing at Michigan as per Pronman "His game can lack pace and he's not that hard to play against" 2) Chaz Lucius - as per Pronman "His main drawback is skating , which lacks explosiveness " 3) Aatu Raty - who's stock has dropped significantly this season. Think im going Eklund or Guenther if they can't land Berniers
  7. just to play devils advocate. If you have Cozens and Eichel as C1 and C2, would you be better off drafting a 3rd line center over a guy that has potential to be a top line winger? I still have Berniers as my number one wish but what if he is gone? who's the 2nd best center in the draft?
  8. Pronman has a new #1 prospect Dylan Guenther, RW, Edmonton-WHL April 10, 2003 | 6-foot-2 | 175 pounds Games: 6 | Goals: 8 | Points: 15 Previous ranking: 4 Guenther has come out of the gates firing as a leading player on a top CHL team. He’s also grown a bit since we last saw him, shooting up about two inches. He is a forward with a ton of NHL attributes and no real flaw in his game other than he doesn’t play center. He has tremendous skill, while able to make skilled plays through defenders and to teammates at an NHL pace. He can run a power play with his playmaking, while also having the shot to score from a distance. He has a lot of talent, but also works off the puck, forcing turnovers and playing in traffic. He has the best chance of anyone in this draft to become an NHL star.
  9. You do understand that I would sign him to a short term deal and it wouldn’t be near $8 per either? maybe you didn’t comprehend my gamestop analogy ?
  10. I like the analogy but I wouldnt say he was bought at $400 when it was a 1 year deal Maybe maybe they bought at $250 hoped it go to $400 and became $50 I think buying again, this time at $50 is worth the gamble as he will come relatively cheap and won’t get a long term deal. I’ll roll the dice he returns to at least his median level of play.
  11. You are probably a guy that bought GameStop at $400 and sold when it went back to $50
  12. Since 2016 he is a top 30 player in points per game, even including this abysmal season I can’t believe he has forgotten how to play. He had covid, he never got to play with a healthy Eichel and the wheels fell off buy low and get him on a good contract and hope he rebounds. It’s not like the Sabres have all this depth to replace him
  13. Is Hall one of the guys Stall mentions as really being hit hard by covid? I think they should take a chance and sign him will his play is down. I can’t imagine him not being better next year ! what kind of contract would he command after the season he had? I would slightly over pay him on a 3 year deal. I’d rather that then a couple of 2nd round picks.
  14. I’d rather try to resign him now than get a draft pick. Is there a playoff team that needs goaltending?
  15. I think Eklund needs stong consideration for the Sabres and shouldn’t be overlooked having a better season than both Holtz and Raymond ( top 10 in last years draft) competitive and tenacious plays LW and would be a top 6 forward , had been compared to Marner with his elusiveness and passing skills Also is thought to have a high hockey IQ
  16. Don’t think you need dat with a top 3 pick however you are right dat they need dat on the roster
  17. Sucks Michigan withdrew from the tourney. Was looking forward to watching them tonight
  18. I know one thing. I don’t care what round they draft a dman. I don’t want to see him on the roster till he is at least 21
  19. I don’t get this take at all. Let him get a couple of games in. See what it’s like vs the best in the world. Hardly think it’s going to ruin him.
  20. don't remember the 74 cup but definitely remember the 79-80s team. Arguably, the best team in history Unfortunately upset in the SEmi's by the Islanders Sabres were huge favorites going into that series.
  21. ok to experience Perreault and Hasek 😂
  22. Its a good price we pay for being old, we got to experience Dom!
  23. First, I want to apologize to Hutton, ive said on Multiple occasions that he has been the worst goalie in the league over the last year and a half but I did some research and found out that Jimmy Howard has actually been worse. Since Hutton had the hot streak in early Oct 2019 here are the stat lines" Jimmy Howard 22GS 1W 21L .878Sv% 4.29GAA Carter Hutton 38GS 7W 29L .886Sv% 3.54GAA Of course Howard was so bad last season, he decided to retire...Unfortunately cant say the same for Hutton. As for the Sabres goalies on a whole Ullmark 11 Decisions 12points Rest of them: 19 Decisions 1 WIN! 4 points total!!! Thats mind-blowing! Maybe gives me hope for a season when the backup isn't brutal?
  24. Exactly right. Eklund is also thought to be near NHL ready. Also both have late 2003 birthdays; so they are older prospects for this years draft. In 6 years you might be disappointed you didn’t draft Powers. However, this team simply can not afford to wait.
