Not being even invited to camp Seems crazy to me

I would love to see Dahlins transition stats. There’s more to playing D than throwing your body around. it’s also the ability to clear your zone with possession, either yours or by passing to a teammate whats Dahlins passing stats ? His defensive zone and offensive zone entries with possession? I’m assume these stats exist, just have no idea where to find them

well at least he isnt missing any Amerks games, though im sure there are some that will be disappointed he wont

Sabres acquire goalie Malcolm Subban for Future Considerations
Crusader1969 replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
a replacement level goalie? have they not seen the Sabres Tandem?? huge upgradge 🙂 -
well if you are going to be on a short list of players attaining something, being on a list with Bobby Orr and Phil Housley is a good place to be.
-
behind only Bobby Fn Orr and Phil Housely in the history of the league in Points be a teenaged Dman.
-
Think you meant “Matthew Savoie” could go #1. 🤪
-
I wonder what "actual" hockey people think of Dahlin at 21?. Im sure there would be a long list of suitors if the Sabres were dumb enough to trade him away.
-
never ever ever forget Sabres twitter said that ERod would be a good long term signing and the Sheary was a victim of puck luck. A lot of times, advanced stats paint a picture of whatever you want to see.

For reference … he is what EP wrote about Patrick in his draft year “A highly skilled and all-round player. Patrick has few, if any, holes in his game and stands out in many aspects. His hockey sense and competitiveness is top notch. At the same time he has above average skating, shooting and puck skills. Furthermore, Patrick is a reliable two-way player” Scored at a clip of 1.4 Pts/gm in his draft year Wright is at 1.15. So far this year

Here we are a week later and I’m thinking I’m slightly less crazy now than I was then Could a “healthy” Nolan Patrick be a comparable for Wright ?

Is this thread an argument for Power to be in Rochester for a good part of next season ?

Did the Sabres dress 7dmen last night ? If not, who sat? -
Maybe over used but it’s true I still believe that he will eventually put up 70+. As both he and the team improve

Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond

had a bit of insomnia last night, so i watched Poltapov's game from Sunday. His team won 6-2 and he had a goal (showing off his hands) and a couple of assists but the most fun shift happens at approximately 38 mins. great puck control along the boards, too strong for opponent and shifty, great edge work circling around the offensive join and almost converts on the wrap around. Its MHL not KHL or VHL but still shows off the kids skill and strength 28.11.2021. ХК «Рига» – «Красная Армия» | (Париматч МХЛ 21/22) – Прямая трансляция - YouTube -
i can't get over the fact that 1 in 4 people would give up on him at 21 when there are countless examples of guys took until at least till 24 to become legit 1Dmen. If you are looking for Dahlin to be a shutdown all situation type, you are going to end up extremely disappointed. If you want him to turn into a 70pt plus Dman, who will always will always be susceptible tp turnovers and defensive lapses due to the high risk, high reward type of game he plays, then just be patient.
-
I dont think we should confuse him with a player like Makar either, Makar is an elite skater. I think that makes the transition for guys like him and Quinn to be a bit easier. Dahlin is a smooth skater and is much bigger, takes a bit more time for dmen like him to find their way.

Article from 2013 Hedman 4 seasons in the NHL and 23 years old " The Tampa Bay Lightning bought into the hype, and drafted Hedman ahead of players like Matt Duchene and Evander Kane. Post-Draft Fallout Hedman has been in the NHL for four seasons now. 2013-14 will be his fifth in the league, and while he's been a minute-muncher in Tampa, he hasn't even come close to providing the kind of offensive spark many hoped he would. The Hockey News thought that Hedman had some offensive upside. So did ESPN. And while the Lighting have been one of the most explosive offensive teams in the league over the last few seasons, Hedman has yet to cash in. Through 258 games played, he's notched 89 points. While posting 20 points in a season isn't bad for a defenseman, it's likely that the Lightning would take one of the players they passed on at this point if they had a do-over."
-
4 year in the league but not 21. can you confirm the ages of the other 3?
-
there are articles about Hedman during his 22 and 23 years of age calling him a bust and how they made a big mistake taking him over Evander Kane. I'll see if I can find them.
-
the trails and tribulations of the young player. Same with UPL - everyone wants immediate results cause Player X came in at 21 and lit the league on fire however its took 9 other guys till their mid 20s to develop
-
would you be happy if Dahlin turned into John Carlsson? Dougie Hamilton? Victor Hedman? Roman Josi? Dahlin is ahead of all of these players at the age of 21. Relax, he will improve as the team improves. Though he may never turn into the "use in all" situations type defenseman but I have no doubt we will see seasons of 70 plus points in the near future.
-
needed, as its no longer a possibility I actually hope Power goes to the AHL for at least half a season next year. They ruined Risto, trying to turn him into something he is not. Now Adams wasnt there in Dahlins rookie year, so can't be blamed. Seems to be doing the right thing with Power, Krebs, JJ and Quinn.

You can slice it anyway you want. He’s 21 - lots of examples of dmen that take till 23 or 24 to develop If we are still seeing these plays at 23 / 24 then have at it he should never have been in the NHL at 18. -

Totally different players. I try to remember what hedman looked like at 21 and other similar style plus I’d guess Rasmus would look slightly better on the Avs.
