Well.. did not see the post games as I had to create dinner.. a nice bbq/pepper pork tenderloin, sour cream/cheddar/horseradish mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans with mushrooms, shallots, and toasted sesame seeds. It was fabulous. I'm not going to despair because no matter what they will just be a sports team. I want them to win... but if they don't it's not harming my budget. That said.. after this start... here's my sentiments. I should also say.. Girgensons, while not entirely effective, is at least putting an effort. As is Josefson and Larsson. The problem is the people who are supposed to be leading this team are not.

One man show.
-
If I'm Housley I put Eichel in the press box the next game. He's clearly checked out. He needs to want it more... All the time.
-
Yes.. because the goalie can't cover an uncovered player. Which goal would you say that Johnson should have saved?
-
+1. Might be the locker room song... I'm pretty sure if I was captain I would play it.
-
Honestly? I think he overplayed the shooter to help emphasize how poorly 82 (won't even try his name anymore) is playing and not taking away the pass. It's a joke. 2-1.. the pass CANNOT get through.. it CANNOT. The Sabres are playing the opposite on D. Every pass gets through.
-
No.
-
Not a chance this is on Johnson today... Sabres should take more penalties.. the opposition doesn't score when the Sabres are shorthanded.
-
Yea... I think a bit. They are certainly lost right now.
-
So Housley turned to Beauleiu and says... "Hey, kid. You aren't going to touch the ice for the next 5 minutes. You might as well go out there and fight."
-
Yep. Early on in this thread I talked about the bad habits... I'm right there with you. And Beauleiu will get to spend time at the beach on this road trip..
-
Think the Avs want him back? :)
-
Are you serious? Mouson and his counterpart there stopped skating... they could have closed the gap to prevent the player from deking. Housley has his hands full with this team right now. How long before someone gets called up?
-
What an individual effort... after Jack nonchalantly doesn't pick up the puck behind his net.

So.. that was a weak call, even for the revised slashing penalty focus.
-
Apparently the Sabres will try anything to score?
-
Jeez Ray . Tennyson didn't fall.. he blew his coverage. IF he takes his man there then Hirschier has to take the puck wide and has no pass. Small 2 on 1 and Tennyson broke the top rule.. the pass can never get through... ever.

You need to read more. It was never love it or leave it. Apparently just a high face.

Yes... I am too, when I look over at my email for a few minutes. ;) And that pass from Eichel to Beaulieu was one of those fantastic things Jack can do.... I am see a team that still some bad habits to break.. sadly a 2 week pre-season is not enough for that.

Yep.. that and I am streaming it in fantastic quality on my second monitor while I "work".

qwk - my point was the addition of subjugation to the name by Doohickie. Saying Happy Indigenous People Day would be a different context and would acknowledge those who were here originally. This would be akin to Canada's National Aborginal Day. I would be in full support of the United States creating this rather than Columbus Day no less. I think, for the purpose of supporting the concept, the answer is yes. Israel did not exist and was given to people. It is possible. Is it without massive, massive complications and consequences? Not a chance. Now.. with regards to the game. I saw that on Oct. 4th MSG released a statement that said Spectrum subscribers can get MSG streaming. I am streaming it right now from watch.spectrum.net. I am not sure about other cable providers being opened up but this is a huge step. Of course in order to stream it you have to be on your home network. It is not available for streaming outside your home.

I responded to a few in direct message but you have a very well thought out message here. I wanted to clarify and potentially put the conversation to bed so we can focus on the Devils... and I don't mean the white ones. My comment was not intended as a love it or leave it message. My question, perhaps better stated, is that if you are a white guy living on the land your ancestors helped take from the indigenous people and you begin calling out your ancestors for taking it, where does it begin to become a bit of a hollow sentiment from the indigenous people point of view? The idea was to make people think about what they are saying and how it can be viewed by others. If you continue to be here then you are, in some way, continuing the possession of the land. I can certainly say that if you were to leave the country you would be supporting your viewpoint. At the same time are there things that can be done with the acknowledgement of the past that might carry more meaning than just saying "Happy Indigenous People Subjugation Day." I realize the initial comment came across as casting judgment and it was not my intention. My intention was to stimulate thought about the statements being made relative to the where the statement is coming from. Let's talk about the Sabres.. And I am all in favor of eliminating "Columbus Day". It is a very stupid holiday.

You might be able to do it. I just did some testing and while my IP address was coming out of Rochester the MSG Networks were blocking me from MSG Go. I switched my IP to be NYC and it allowed me in and it appears as though it will work. So, I'm not sure what will happen for you when you attempt to connect to MSG Go. I'm not sure why MSG puts a region lock on their broadcasting, especially given that they cover the Sabres.

You word it this way and it suggests you feel strongly about what happened when the Europeans settled (invaded) North America. I have asked others who are not descended from the indigenous people of North America why they feel compelled to point this out. I listen to their response which usually falls into a couple of categories, all of which are pretty good. My next question is... if you feel that strongly about it, why do you continue to live here and further the oppression started by your ancestors? It's a bit hypocritical to call this subjugation out and then continue to live here and perpetuate it... isn't it? Of course I don't ask this of the people I know who are descended of the indigenous people of North America as their point of view is well supported. :) Just food for thought. Onto more pressing matters... The Sabres need to show in this game. Starting 0-2-1 or 0-1-2 would not reflect well. Certainly not the end of the world, but they need to inject some positivity into the season. Perhaps simply scoring a PP goal or two and NOT giving up a SHG will do that? Either way.. game on at 3pm.
