  1. One organization has done things for 1 year. It's probably time to not be so high and mighty about things and enjoy the ride. I like that Vegas has success but it remains to be seen what season 2 looks like. Keep in mind that next season they will have the pressure of being compared to this seasons team. As soon as they stumble they will be answering questions about why they, as a second year team, haven't grown and learned from their incredible first season. At the moment Vegas has arrived at a door, until they have a chance to go through one no one will know if it will be a revolving door or not. Also, you are really more VegasBillsFan now right?
  2. That would be really ignorant... I mean, how do you not at least consider Tavares if he's available? There are zero question marks about the guy... not a single one.
  3. I might find my way to that... could be cool.
  4. This is what I hear every time someone complains about Vegas: It's all sour grapes. It happened. They are winning. It's going to be interesting to see people all stuck in "how it's supposed to be" have to deal with them as Stanley Cup champs.
  5. Fair enough. My son plays.. he's played since 13 and is now 14. My daughter does not, she is 10 going on 11. It's really not much different than a few other games... but rather than take this thread off course I would say we could pick it up in the Video Game thread if you were interested in my take on it (I play it quite often and no, I am not a prominent NHL prospect.... ) :)
  6. Everything in moderation. It's that simple. Unless you think your kids are going to be addicts.
  7. Yeah.. screw them right? Who needs fans who love their team having success? It's way better when everyone is just miserable about their team and attacks each other. They haven't had a chance to lose their life savings on scratch-offs. So, really, it's not like that. They are still winning the lottery right now.
  8. Good coaches adapt their schemes when they have to do so. I don't think there is evidence that Housley did not adapt his scheme but at the same time there needs to a be a stress on playing the system the coach is looking for as well. Given that players need to be evaluated for their ability to execute the game plan it is important that you don't immediately lower the expectations placed upon the players. Bottom line is that both Housley and Botterill need to know if the players can execute the plan. If not then they need to be moved elsewhere for players who can.
  9. Take Twitch to the next level. Place cameras into all players helmets to allow spectators to watch the game from their favorite player perspective. Then allow them to jump into an arena chat group (think large scale 10,000) there they can scream and shot and have their voices piped into an arena sound system. Finally, replace the the space above the glass with large display panels that replicate seating and then put each persons avatar in that seat. The players think fans are there and everyone is watching from their favorite player camera. Charge different amounts to stream from a stars POV as opposed to the 4th line JAG. Anyone want to help me patent all that? :)

    Bobby Hull

Why are we still talking about this dolt? :) Honestly didn't know about any of it.. mostly because it wasn't something I would go out seeking information on. That said... yea, time to stop bringing him in.
  11. It's far too much money for a goaltender, period. He's also spending more time out injured lately. No thanks... not at all. A goaltender for half the price will be more than half of Price in net.
  12. Which is great... and music is music, cars are cars, a hockey team is a hockey team, and your mom is... nah.. not going there. :) It's not wrong, it's just not descriptive. Depending on the conversation a different level of description is needed. If this were "The Official Alcohol Appreciate Thread" it might be expected to say I like beer. Although someone would probably ask which style and brand.. but this is already the beer thread... we're a level down in the descriptions.
  13. Winnipeg has a lot of fans simply because there are a ton of people who don't want to see Vegas make it to the finals in their first year. I can't even imagine what kind of hype train NBC will subject us to if that happens.
  14. Okay, you'll be lucky to have that trust after this season. That they did. They had a defense that broke the record for least points allowed in a season. They also went on to decline fairly well right after that since the defense couldn't hold them up anymore and their replacement QBs were terrible. So, you are correct, but supported by the best defense the NFL had ever seen at that time (in terms of points allowed). The Bills can't even come close to that.
  15. It's not an accurate assessment. If you really want to dig down into it you can read about the Beer Judging Certification Guidelines, you'd find Style Category 28 "American Wild Ale" and Category 23 "European Sour Ales". There are sours that use Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, etc. There are sours that use wild yeast that carry natural souring agents. And so on.. Categories being: Brett Beer Mixed-Fermentation Sour Beer Wild Specialty Beer BerlinerWeisse Flanders Red Ale Oud Bruin Lambic Gueuze Fruit Lambic It's not really. There categorizations in beer just as there are in other things. There are those who care more about them as well. However, that said, it's not pedantic to point out the different in sour ales and that they are not all intended to be blended with a syrup. It's educational and nothing more. It's not judgmental in any way. I'm never judgmental about it. It's a taste thing. If you want to mix a beer, go for it.
  16. I believe this only applies to BerlinerWeisse. These days, breweries that make Berliners usually mix in the fruit flavor to begin with. The traditional BerlinerWeisse is given either red or green depending on which syrup you want.
  17. You know, you are basically giving credit to the Bills for being lucky and not sucking as bad as other teams. They were anything but good this past season. They were an mediocre team that got by on a fluke play from the Bengals. That pass gets dropped or doesn't end up in the end zone and your tune on the Bills is that they were mediocre and missed the playoffs. How good were the Bills? They jettisoned their starting QB. No team that is GOOD, gets rid of their starting QB. When the Bills retreat back into 4-12 land this year what will be the attitude towards that team and their successful leadership?
  18. The wheels come off eventually, just like in Chicago. Of course those teams have Cups to show for it as well. There may be a day when the Sabres fans get to feel the same way again. A few years, perhaps a championship and then... back to the bottom.
  19. Ruby Red Kolsch.. it ain't a great Kolsch. It is a great summer/lawn mower beer.
  20. Every team and fans response to you.
  21. http://www.sportingnews.com/nhl/news/nhl-playoffs-2018-san-jose-sharks-evander-kane-injury-update-seperated-shoulder-mcl-free-agency/edpqqnbnv9es1puapnnmsyot9 That might have had some influence. Each year we hear about these things and I have to wonder... do teams really not have ANY player that would be better in the lineup than icing a player with these kinds of injuries?
  22. STH can redeem tickets for credits towards a Sabres store. So, now there's a trade-off. Sell your $6 seat or get some kind of credit for a purchase at that store. Whatever it will be.
  23. How is that relevant though? He was also selected to be the captain of Montreal. No small feat, even if he has small feet.
  24. The current situation of the Sabres has nothing to do with the Bruins losing. The only time the Bruins losing is better than this is when it comes at the hands of the Sabres. Lick it or not, that's the way it is.
  25. Of course, the Sabres are combating those cheap tickets by encouraging STH to NOT sell those tickets and instead invest them into the team and merchandise. Why sell your ticket for $6 when you can get $15 for it at the Sabres store? Be curious to see if this increases the amount of empty seats (because there are no seats to buy) or if it has no impact because there's only so much Sabres merch a person can have before $6 is $6 and $15 credit towards the jersey of the next guy to be traded is worth $0.
