How do any of us have enough information to pass judgment on this trade? Superficially it can appear one way. Again, we are not in the business, so we don't know. It's not like information about moves and trades have not come out days, weeks, months, or even years later that make you rethink why something happened. So why get bent over something within 30 minutes of it happening as if that's all it will ever be?

That's pretty much every day here for everyone involved isn't it? Our opinions don't matter when it comes to hockey business. Our belief that we somehow know more than people in the business is what I would call fantasy sports. The entirety of any deal take a long time to play out. I don't believe it's wise to pass final judgment on this move. On the surface it appears to be a less than stellar deal but that doesn't mean it really is a bad deal. There are plenty of potential avenues this deal can take that will improve the overall value. None of those avenues are going to play out in the next 4-6 months so it's really hard for people to be patient and see what happens. I know, no one wants to be patient because this franchise has been losing. I understand. So be it. Be mad about something you can't change then.

There is no evidence that a better offer ever existed. There's speculation of course.

Since Spectrum's pass-thru authentication for ESPN3 is not working I broke down and signed up for 5 days free trial of YouTube TV which lets me get ESPN3. I tried to listening to WGR550 but honestly the Instigators are so bush league in their coverage it was painful. Bring on the trades!

Thanks.. Just saw that. And of course the IDAM system being used to get my login credentials from Spectrum is failing. Gotta love it. So I can't authenticate to Spectrum to get the ESPN3 feed... Oh well. We shall see if it sorts itself out today.

Is there a legal TSN.ca stream anywhere? I so much prefer TSN trade coverage to sportsnet

It was nice to be there in person to watch all the Boston fans leave with their heads down. I almost yelled out “You just lost to Buffalo!” right at the face off with 4.2 seconds left... but I didn’t. No need to be that guy. After all, they are going to the playoffs. Sabres showed a lot of jump for most of the game. I think last night it began to sink in that some guys are leaving tomorrow and it deflated the room a bit. Tonight they looked ready to go. Bring on the deadline... so we can discuss the draft.
