I submit that Amendments 4, 5, 6, and 8 are roundly ignored by all levels of government. Changing them, to strengthen them, may be the only way to save them.

The best part about this entire league is that at some point during this holiday season, a board member is going to have some left overs that are a few hours too old, trust the next fart just a little too much, and suffer the inevitable consequences. They will then spend the rest of the day trying to explain to their families why they ran out of the room screaming "VICTORY!!!" and came back with different pants on.

I'm not a Constitutional Scholar, but from what I can remember, the "Strict Originalist" interpretation of the constitution has shown up twice in American Politics. Both times during massive expansions of liberal ideals in the face of objections by the states. First around the Civil War by the Democrats, who at the time were America's conservative party, and again during the Civil Rights Era by the Republicans, whom at that point had morphed into America's conservative party. It's nothing more than the death throes of a power base desperately clinging to the status quo. It's wrong headed, but it also has some very smart adherents. Scalia plays the long game, and he's very very good at it.

I'm thinking it hardly matters, unfortunately. It only a matter of whether every proposal dies in the speaker/majority leader's office or at the Veto Pen. The next two years will most likely be exactly the same as the last 4. Then in 2016 the democrats will retake the senate, the GOP will still control the house through gerrymandered districts, and congress will keep doing what they do. :political sad face:

This thread was created specifically to avoid poisoning the other threads with talk of the long term benefits of losing a lot this year. That is certainly something that has not ever happened on the board before. People with a negative outlook and drumbeat message of what needs to be done voluntarily moving their semi-psychotic dreariness to a quarantined zone where innocent fans need not be infected. It's not working perfectly, but it is reducing the amount of tank talk on the GDTs and other threads. I hope that helps to explain the CHL's existence. I'm mostly here to enjoy the schadenfrued that is the NY Islanders.

I know. The Aging Process is critical. But is there a court case where this was the actual judicial result? I mean, outside of Law and Order.
