  4. Interesting. He still may have entered legally (no visa require from Mexico, just passport). That's my bigger point. There is no way to really seal the Mexican border completely. We like their tourism and trade too much. Although with a bit more $$ and better leadership, I'm sure ICE could do a better job than they are currently. Or we could open the borders like we did for the Irish. Italians, Germans, etc and let whoever wants to swear allegiance to move in and help us grow. I still can't figure out what's different about these immigrants from the ones 60 or 100 or 150 years ago. Hell, they're probably better educated!
  5. Naw, if you are a foreigner in the country legally, and commit a crime, you get a detainer just the same, I think. He probably is in the country illegally, but that doesn't mean he entered the country illegally.

  7. That killer was deported 13 years ago. Did he reenter legally? For instance, is his Wife a citizen? Did this allow him to reenter? I don't see any comment on how he returned in any of the coverage. Seems like it would be a critical piece of the information.
  8. I follow, that's essentially what I'm saying about citizenship for people who have been here for a long time. but back to the point. This issue has nothing to do with voter fraud. We both want the law to change, but want it respected in the meantime. Fraud never enters into the equation. I stand by the value that a Citizens right to Vote is the most supreme right, and cannot be infringed. The purity of the election is 1b to that, and actions should be taken to ensure the polls are as fraud free as possible, but never at the expense of voter suppression. Denying an American Citizen the right to vote, is the ultimate harm. Fraud in the election is a significant, but secondary harm to that, and should be addressed such. Does it reduce fraud --> YES --> Will all Citizen voters be allowed to cast their ballots? --> YES --> These are our solutions. a "NO" to either of these questions should be an automatic disqualifier.
  9. Ok, I just want the amnesty arguement out of the voter fraud conversation. If these people are granted citizenship under the laws of the United States of America, then they can vote, and it's not fraud. Additionally, the Constitution is quite clear that all persons born in America are American Citizens. There is no grey area there, and your comment does not so much cause me to go into an uproar as to question your commitment to, or understanding of, the Constitution. "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." -The Fourteenth Amendment There are no qualifiers on that clause. It is absolute.

RIght, The Democrats are proposing to change the law in the customary fashion (congress --> President's signature --> Supreme Court Review) They're not proposing just printing SS cards for everyone working on a tomato farm. But if the laws are duly passed and call for some residents who violated their visas or other immigration law in the past, to be offered citizenship, those citizens would be the same title as you or I, correct? We're not talking about voter fraud here.
  11. Woah, hold up. Before we move on... Accepting the current Tax Paying residents of the United States into the "Citizen" family has absolutely nothing to do with Voter Fraud. Citizens voting is not fraud, right? If the law of the land allows them to swear the oath and earn the highest title in the land, citizen, then we're not talking about fraud, right?

  14. Hopeful, If someone were to propose a method of reducing illegal voting without hindering the right to vote for legal voters, the Democrats would support it. President Obama's administration has deported more people than any administration in the history of this nation. How does that fact fit into your presumption that the Democrats are actively using illegal immigration to get elected? The study linked above showed that while the Democrats had compete control of the government (2008-2010) illegal voting decreased by 60%. How does that fact fit into your presumption that the Democrats are actively using illegal immigration to rig the vote?

  17. 3-3-1 would accomplish the same and give the home team an actual advantage, BUT... There is a nonsense method for determining home field advantage in the World Series, so I understand throwing a bone to the "visitors" by letting them be the first to 3 home games.

Your stated suspicions that the Democratic party is actively working in concert with illegal activity to improve their election chances (paraphrasing your quote to which I was responding) are currently baseless and the data and analysis in the linked article do more to refute those suspicions than confirm them. Just calling a spade a spade. No offense intended, I enjoy our interactions. :)
  19. Yeah, President Obama wanted the non-citizen vote so bad, he lowered it by 60% from when he took office to 2010. This article is not an indictment of the Democrats, nor an endorsement of Voter ID. You'll have to keep looking to confirm your (currently baseless) suspicions.

  21. It makes sense. The Departments of Health are state run. The CDC provides the guidance and science, some man power and money. I like what NY/NJ are doing. I think the right course of action is to look at the CDC recommendations for containment. Do all of that stuff to protect the public from the disease, and then take a few more steps to protect the public from their own panic instinct. That's funny. Plague Inc is a very similar game and the same thing happens with Madagascar (and Greenland).
