  1. That horrible blue, yellow, and gray jersey they came out with back when Ott was captain. I forget what year it was.
  2. For slug and turdburger gear I'm surprised they didn't pay you to take it away.
  3. If you wake up with a smile on your face and bite marks on your ass, it's a successful party.
  4. Using Dudacek's mock lineup, we'd probably end up with fans rioting because: Eichel - $10 million cap hit for 50 points with those bums Skinner - $9 million cap hit for 20 goals and 30 points and that's only if Johansson is better than advertised I could go on, but you get the idea. On the bright side it should make Reinhart somewhat easier to re-sign, although that 3rd line might actually have more overall talent than all the rest of the lines. No line with both Girgensons and Larsson could ever be considered a scoring line. I don't care if the 3rd guy is Gretzky or Lemieux. I like Rodriguez but he's certainly not good enough to make a scoring line from that trio.
  5. If he does that, we'll probably end up with zero scoring lines. You can only dilute the talent so much before everything suffers.
  6. That's insane. I can't believe they didn't go with Sobotka.
  7. 4 scoring lines seems pretty ambitious considering we only had 1 last year. At this point we'll be lucky to get back to having 2 of them.
  8. I forgot about the lockout. You may be right and he may get additional rope if he uses a partial season as his excuse, so he may not lose Pegula after all. Now I need a drink.
  9. He better not get that much rope. If his team doesn't make the playoffs by 2020-2021, I think Pegula will fire him. If for no other reason than to avoid the team playing in an empty arena.
  10. I expect a trade or two before the season starts. Exceeding the cap isn't the issue since we can easily be compliant with a few paper transactions or sending actual bodies down to Rochester before the opening roster deadline but I don't think they can just send everyone down to Rochester without stunting the growth of the actual prospects they want to develop down there. I think Olofsson stays at LW so it really depends on who they make 2C. If they stick Mittelstadt there I hope Olofsson plays with Eichel and Skinner drops to line 2 because I have no interest in seeing 2 guys who are that green playing together. If they make Johansson the 2C they will probably keep Skinner with Eichel and put Olofsson on line 2. I have no clue on the defense but I'd prefer they keep Ristolainen just to see if Kreuger is smarter than our previous 3 or 4 coaches who just threw him in the deep end and left him there. His usage and playing time would be the first test on whether the new coach has got his head screwed on straight.
  11. The thought of Jimmy "top 6" Vesey being the one the help elevate the green young Mittelstadt into a top 6 center in 2019-2020 is certainly puke inducing.
  12. I think it was Botterill trying to save face after the horrible trade of he who won't be named. The trade was and still is garbage but it would have looked even worse if Thompson (the only potentially prime piece in the return) and Mittelstadt (the supposed plan B and long term plan A for 2nd line center) were playing in Rochester. Especially since Berglund (likely the temporary plan A for 2nd line center) was only good enough to earn spot centering the 4th line before he quit and Sobotka (valuable depth!) played poorly enough that he should have been watching from the press box or shot directly into the sun.
  13. Just going off their track record and history. I'm pretty sure Windows operating systems in general (from windows 2000, to XP, to Vista, to 7, to 10) only get bigger and more cumbersome over time, requiring faster processors and more memory to function than the version preceding it. In my experience it's not good to just install a new one over the top of the existing one. I have some limited IT experience but just about every IT expert I've ever talked to has told me that when you go from one OS to another, you'll have way fewer problems/bugs and hardware issues if you completely slick/format the old hard drive first and then install the new OS cleanly. For one, doing that removes the million or so registry entries that get made every time you install/run software, download programs, and install devices. Given that my old system is already old and slow installing a newer, bigger, fancier OS onto it would only make it run even slower, not to mention the time it would take to download and install it, plus dealing with whatever headaches come from hardware compatibility issues (printers, video cards, hard drives, dvd burners, mouse, keyboard, etc.). It's just not worth the hassle.
  14. I have no problem with Windows 10 either. My girlfriend has it on her laptop and I use it on my computer at work. My problem is with installing a brand new operating system onto an old piece of equipment it wasn't designed for (my old desktop that was built to run Windows 7). My old desktop wasn't exactly top of the line to begin with and it was already several years old when those Windows 10 updates were being sent out. "Upgrading" my old machine to the new OS (which hadn't even had the bugs worked out at the time) would have probably rendered it unusable or so slow that it might as well have been unusable and given how little I use it I wasn't about to sink more money into upgrading the memory or the processor to get it to run normally.
  15. Yes, that was me. You actually sent me the update number (KB35somethingsomethingetc) in order to block to automatic upgrade on my old desktop which is still running windows 7. Given how much better phones have gotten though, I only use my desktop to burn the occasional dvd or to convert the occasional song from youtube to an MP3 file so I can save it on the MP3 player I hook up to my car. My old desktop is a dinosaur at this point, so I'm glad I didn't have to load a fancy new operating system into it.
  16. I'm going to guess that your computer has gremlins. Just don't feed them after midnight.
  17. Most of that stems from buying out Patrick Marleau I believe and they got a 1st round for their trouble. Plus they never spend to the cap anyway.
  18. If you're bored you can always go have another meltdown about Botterill drafting that defenseman over whichever forward you had ranked higher on your fantasy draft board. At least it made for some funny reading.
  19. Of course not. It goes against his hoarding nature. It's a good thing there are both roster and contract limits or he'd amass more players onto the ice than there would be people to watch them in the stands.
  20. He's more human and a better hockey player than those garbage players Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka, and Tage Thompson will ever hope to be though.
  21. 2 top 6 talents out. He also let Kane walk without a replacement, unless you want to consider Berglund, Sobotka, or Thompson to be top 6 players.
  22. I'm pretty sure they treat it as if the year never happened. So if a player has 3 years left on his contract and the lockout cancels an entire season, the player still has 3 years left on his deal. I don't believe RFA status or years of service towards UFA status would change so if a guy had one year before becoming an RFA and then the lockout cancelled a season they would still have one year to become an RFA.
  23. I agree with this. The only show I can think of that had a better ending than Breaking Bad was Six Feet Under. Ash Vs Evil Dead ended awesomely as well, but I'm not counting it because the creators originally planned to do 5 seasons but they got cancelled after just 3.
  24. I don't see how that's possible unless he nails the return as well. You predicted both sides of the trade.
  25. If only it had more wolves on the sleeves. Just be glad you aren't catching a Ted Nugent concert in that thing or you might get hit with a flaming arrow. The good news is the shirt would probably protect you.
