  1. And now with Edmonton and Florida winning we could go on a 3 game winning streak (probably 1-0 victories in the shootout given our inability to score goals) and still be in sole possession of last place.
  2. I'm officially out. Still great to see the Sabres beat the Leafs though.
  3. At 105 and I'll go all in on the Leafs. A Buffalo win would put me out and a Toronto win would put me at 180 I believe based on the ratios and rounding up to the nearest $5.
  4. At 65 and I'll go all in on the Candiens. I think that would net me 40 dollars and put me up to 105 if the Habs win and put me out if the Sabres win.
  5. I think based on the ratios I won 25 dollars on my 40 dollar bet on Detroit so I believe I'm up to 65.
  6. I'm think Girgensons has that potential which is why I listed him as one of the players I wouldn't move. I think we still need somebody to hold that spot until he has a chance to develop more though. Given the loss of Pominville and Vanek and the impending loss of Miller, Ott, and Moulson we can definitely afford to overpay a few veterans at key positions and a defensive minded center should be at or near the top of the list. Just this past year we could have gone after guys like Filppula or Grabovski and I'm sure there were others available. Hopefully there will be a few more this offseason. Then we can put Girgensons on said players wing where he can learn the ropes up close.
  7. I'd trade anyone in this organization other than Ristolainen, Zadarov, Girgensons, and Hodgson for a defensive minded center who could pot 20 goals.
  8. I'm down to $40 because I keep picking Buffalo. I should have realized that Nolan can only polish this turd of a roster so much.
  9. Down to 140 and I'll put 100 on Buffalo. Phuck the Phlyers!
  10. Down to 240 and I wouldn't have bet on Buffalo either if I had known Miller wasn't getting the start.
  11. Down to 340 and with all the changes I may need to re-evaluate my recent strategy of just blindly picking the Sabres to lose.
  12. At 540 with some major ground to make up. That win against the Sharks was still worth it though, as long as we still finish in 30th.
  13. I took a bath on that one. It was nice to see Buffalo actually look like they wanted to win and pull through though.
  14. I should be up to 1100 now with the loss to Anaheim.
  15. I'm generally a lurker in this thread and the board in general, but I'll throw in just to remain eligible. When I first read the thread I was going to bet one unit on the Sabres opponent each game which would have had me sitting pretty at this point but since I never placed any bets, I'm at $1,000 and I'd actually like to put $100 on the Sabres to win since the Rangers seem to have as much trouble scoring as we do.
  16. You forgot to add the momentum that those few meaningless win manage to carry over all the way from late March and early April all the way to the following October.
  17. I'm ready to downgrade my votes on him at this point, even though I hope he sticks around for now. There's no way I want another coach falling on the sword and taking the fall for Darcy's ineptitude because with our luck the new guy will do exactly what Rolston did last year and that's provide just enough improvement for us to miss out on the chance to draft a true blue chip prospect in the draft. When Regier eventually gets ######-canned then I want the new GM to be able to bring in his own guy but for now I'm willing to let Rolston continue to flounder watching him try to make chicken salad out of chicken ######. He does a lot of things I disagree with coaching wise but when you look at the fact that we don't have a single center on this team (excluding the kids) who is capable of playing well defensively he's been dealt a bad hand.
  18. I work on Camp Lejeune here in NC and I got furloughed for 3 1/2 days back when the shutdown first happened and then got called back to work the following Monday. I'm not even sure if I'll be getting paid next pay day but the orginazation that I work for is funded partially by appropriated funds and predominantly by non-appropriated funds so my paycheck should go back to what it was before all this. If not, I'll be dipping into some savings until they strike a deal that kicks the can down the road another 6 weeks or so and then we can do this all over again.
