Yup, shockingly the Sabres have not reached WNBA or MLB status...yet.

This whole hope thing is not working for fans who have seen the same crap year in and year out. Hope will only come when they blow it up from top to bottom and replace it with competent hockey minds.

I think this is the main point to be made, how do we know they are not that far away? From where I stand, they not only don't have a #1 goalie, they may not even have an NHL backup that you can trust. They lack a #1 Center, their defense is arguably the worst in the NHL, they have THE WORST GM in town, a coach who I think is ready to retire, and an owner that does not give a crap. Sorry, but add this all up and I think they are about as far away as you can possibly imagine. I think people like to believe that just because they have all these high draft picks and a farm system that "experts" say is one of the best, that they are closer than the standings show. I see a consistent bottom-feeder year in and year out, and a team that NEVER seems to get over the hump. This team sucks from top to bottom and yet somehow manages to still fool people as they have late season surges that mean nothing. They are rotten, and I mean rotten to the core, and everyone outside the team knows it...

For the love of Jesus, somebody actually falling into this trap again? These games, mean absolutely nothing, teams dominate us, and goaltending is the only reason any of the games have been victories.

I just wish that it meant something moving forward, I don’t trust this team to give me any hope until there are multiple months of success back to back

Such special times when our legitimate number one goaltender is James Reimer. It feels like it is 10 years ago.

He definitely doesn’t wanna be here, and he won’t be here next year. The number one goal of the Sabres is to be the youngest team in the NHL for five years in a row, so just get some draft picks and be done with it, nobody cares anymore.

Can we just trade 2/3 of our roster for that one fighter in Columbus so at least there is something to look forward to after December 1 next season

I honestly don't think he was a problem here. I think this organization chews up and spits out talent at every turn. Quinn will be next, and then Peterka, and soon after, Dahlin will want out. Look what they already tried to do to Levi, these guys are absolutely 100% CLUELESS. The players are not given a chance to succeed here as they are rushed into a starting position, lose confidence within months, and then never reach potential until they are traded away.

Yes, Benson, I do like him as well. He is our lesser version of Marchand.

I think I detest every player on this team not named Dahlin, Tuch, Zucker or Tage so making sense of any of it is nearly impossible for me.

Really hoping Cozens has the game of his career tonight, he was never the problem, and now we have a guy who can't even make it a week without being injured. I hope whatever is left of this organization is burned down to the ground tonight. They need to accept they are years away from elevating out of the bottom-feeder position.

This feeling surrounding the Sabres is 1 million times worse than the lowest point of the Bills 17 year drought. There is absolutely no end in sight on this one, none.

Maybe I am looking for something else, but Power looks like he does not even know how to play defense. Maybe if he was the 10th pick in the draft, I would not be so hard on him.

Nothing matters until they actually have a number 1 goalie and 2 MAJOR upgrades on defense.

I would say Power, Muel and Cozens were pretty terrible contracts that were way premature. Not only were they undeserving, the optics are terrible, especially now that Peterka, and others will be coming up soon.

Buffalo will not offer long term because they have already ruined the next 5 years of this organization by offering it too early to others. Peterka will not want to stay, I mean, why would he. The offer sheet will come and he will happily sign it while Buffalo gets more draft picks that won't see the ice for 3-5 years. Buffalo is in a can't-win situation with any player that is worth keeping right now (and is unsigned).

There is no such thing as a good win until 2025 season begins
