From everything I have read, Buffalo seems to be the PERFECT project for him. Turn around the biggest loser in the league, who just so happens to have some legit superstar youth. It's not like he is taking over during the 1st year of the tank, he would be putting on the finishing touches and get all the credit. Sounds like a perfect for both sides....

I hope they at least called the Wild to see if Boudreau could be had for a draft pick. MN seems to have their guy in waiting and just did not want to pay Boudreau for an absent year.

Man, will Buffalo ever be good again? Seriously, just making the playoffs in the next 2 years seems like a pipedream.

The way I see it is that a first time coach is going to think this place will be the death knell for him in 2 years. It's like killing your career before it even begins. This team is 3 years away from the playoffs and no way is a rookie coach going to get that long of a leash.

These two teams are built completely differently and the Sabres are not built like either one of them unfortunately
