  1. As for the political correctness of it, I have a very hard time through text to get my viewpoint across, I sincerely don't think I am a dick (most of the time) and there is a lot of merit to what was said up thread about assimilating to the new times but having others jump on you with the first slip up, I actually believe that may be a big part of it. Some folks resist change, and others just aren't inherently good at doing it very quickly, I like to think that I'm of the latter. But guys... I the Fn bills are in the playoffs!!!
  2. I work with a gal (a couple actually) that need to step out a couple of times a shift to go pump. I have also worked in the 3rd world where moms just pop it out, and there's no discussion, it's really a western culture type of issue. As for the "too much" in society, I am not even allowed to tell patients they are fat/obese/chubby /etc etc, even though it contributes to half of their medical issues, that used to be part of the job and now patient satisfaction surveys rule the world. It's becoming tough to not be cynical lately, in turn, I feel I may inappropriately apply that to the rest of society. Lastly, I have been doing a lot of world traveling lately, and I have found (in generalities) that we may be the most sensitive culture in the world. I didn't actually fully believe it until I traveled to 6 of the 7 continents. Granted many European nations are similar to us, but the rest of the world is quite different. It's late and I sound like a grumpy rambler :/ I think my word diarrhea shall cease for now :)
  3. Well that will never happen. I made it through 2017 with almost zero exposure to modern politics, that's a victory
  4. I can admit I have become one of the worst cynics, it's not a great quality. Some of the things in society need changing, but when is it too much?
  5. I was watching with a patient..... It flipped to the Bengals game.... Swear to God I thought it would induce labor when it happened
  6. Apparently, at a couple local colleges, I had a student of mine today tell me that the term "freshman" is now considered sexist.... The appropriate term is now "1st year" Things are getting outta control.
  7. Got the tickets, thanks tom!
  8. I used to drive a brown station wagon, it was an 88 Nissan, I made a windshield sticker that said "The Turd" in big letters. I got pulled over at night once doing 70 in a 55, the trooper shined his light on my inspection and then up and starting dying laughing, he let me go :) 2 months later, the turd started on fire while driving to work.... Sad end to the literal flaming bag of poop
  9. .... What is happening In here.... Who wants to go to Potsdam anyways.. Unless they're getting laid
  10. F'in people, good on ya!
  11. At midnight, there was a 28 year old overdose, a 41 year old heart attack, a combative 31 year old drunk, and a pregnant gal in 3rd trimester in a car accident with a drunk driver with both her and baby in critical condition..... The roads were closed, no helicopter flying, and ambulance took 4+ hours to the nearest trauma center.... Christmas has officially ended.
  12. I'm good with goldenbill :)
  13. I think it's good to have an infusion of other people on here.... Milbank is an avid leafs fan, and yet we still are kosher with him. Don't be a Dick, this franchise has let us all down repeatedly, and sabre bill moved to Vegas, good on him for having a local team
  14. Well the only chance now is ravens amd/or titans losing next week with a bills win.... I'm sure it's not that simple, but the drought sure looks like it's gonna keep going
  15. The Ravens win, even as expected, was painful to the Bills. Looks like a titans collapse is the only hope at this point. At least beating New England isn't a *must win*
  16. Unfortunately, I don't think our cafeteria can even comprehend the words "prime rib" it is all pretty low quality food, it makes me want to meal prep/plan more.... But I'm too lazy for that.
  17. I'll be eating whatever the cafeteria is serving on Christmas.... Or sending one of my students to McDonald's.... Hapless holidays....
  18. That's because he can't succeed, not this year anyways..... He gets until the end of the year to show he is able to keep up in this "system" of he becomes an off season dealing in my eyes.
  19. I'm flying home from Raleigh at 530,if I knew ahead of time I would have left later :(
  20. Ya know, I try and take one trip a month, whether it's local or global.... My job sucks and is stressful, it's long, hard hours. The perk for me is that financially I am in a good spot and my days are soooo long (usually 12+)hours that allows me to work a lot less (days) per month. I'm 33, single, no kids that I'm aware of :) I'm cool with seeing/experiencing as much as I can, before the reality of aging hits me. I wanted to take a camper van from the east all the way through uluru and to Perth.... But just don't have that much time, I really enjoyed cairns and Melbourne though!! Its aleays nice experienceing other cultures too, nice people in aussie land That's awesome!!! I'm looking at Spain in the summer maybe, I want to see Greece too, but I'll keep some of these ideas in mind. It was that good eh?
  21. Thanks, I ended up doing taronga, but in Sydney I went to Circular Quay and hung out downtown, did a bridge crawl and then went to the opera house for a comedy satire. I found the rest of Australia to be much more fun, I guess I just don't love big cities.... And driving in ridiculous traffic
  22. Kind of random, but I am looking into a trip to Nepal, and a trip to base camp of everest and possibly a hike to a lower peak.... The summit is probably something that I can't do (time, $$, out of shape) I'm looking at maybe October, has anyone had any experience or done a trek like this?
  23. Yessss I got a cameo :) Awesome as always eleven!!!
  24. I read a book called "The subtle way of not giving a F*ck" it was great when talking about extraordinary vs "normal" and how if everyone was extraordinary then there would be extraordinary. Idk if I have a total point but in reading the millennial debate and the Sam debate and etc, it brought me back to the book. It touched on how those that are great are so not because they think that, but because they keep thinking they aren't good enough and obsess over their craft until it's perfect, and even then they keep working. Now as I recall, Sam was staying after with ROR last year and this year not so much, has Sam not so subtly stopped giving a F. Has ROR. Do we have the type of players that obsess that they're not good enough, because that is a team that is built to win.
