We’ve decided tonight that it is time to put our dog down. Making the appointment for Saturday morning. It was almost exactly 1 year ago that we found out he had cancer. Almost to the day. We got to have another full year with him before it got out of hand. Long faces in the Weave house tonight. And probably all weekend.

I dunno. I think the problem is that “we” have lost the ability to discern what is news and what is opinion. This piece wasn’t passed off as news by the author as far as I could tell.

According to the Partnership for the Public Good's 2018 Buffalo Brief Report, The City of Buffalo has 108,600 jobs. I don't think it is unreasonable at all to assume that 50% of them are downtown. A real estate downtown demographics report has a downtown resident population published as 930 people. If we assume half the City of Buffalo jobs are downtown, that gives us 54,300 workers downtown, with something less than 1,000 of them living downtown. I don't believe 10% of them carpool. Never saw any more than 1 in 10 vehicles with more than one person in it back in the days I called Buffalo home. Edit- Don't you folks know how to research and support your arguments?

Yup. Taxpayers paying for the trade war. Here's the really funny part. Follow the money. We put tariffs on China. Farmers get subsidies to keep them planting. How are those subsidy moneys obtained? Federal bonds. Who is the largest holder of publicly owned US debt? Yup. China. We're paying China to put tariffs on China.

I haven't found anything specifically tying it to any one reason. It's certainly possible that it is due to current employment levels being higher. Corporate tax contributions are down 2% so it certainly seems to be an increase in income tax revenues.

My prediction is that there will not be a happy ending to the Star Wars saga. The cowboys in the white hats don't overcome the cowboys in the black hats. I think the final message will be that power corrupts. Always.

Totally disagree. The top personal tax rate is 35%. The top corporate tax rate is also effectively 35%. The whole reason for the existence of business incorporation is to provide a legal and financial separation of the owners of a business from the business's liabilities, and the penalty for that separation was a higher tax rate. We have effectively removed the penalty for separating your personal liability from your companies liability. Goes completely against the spirit in which the laws setting up incorporation were founded. Personal taxes should be lower than corporate taxes because of the legal separation that incorporation provides. Corporate taxes are too low. (Or personal taxes are too high. Take your pick)

If I remember correctly, he said that he wants all 4 lines to contribute, not wants all 4 lines to score. Contribute means different things to different lines.
