Well stated. His stats are comparing to Housley, but Housley made game breaking plays. He was VERY noticeable on the ice. Granted, he couldn't play in his own end to save his life, but he was an offensive dynamo. Given the hype, I expected that out of Dahlin. I'm not ready to say with utmost confidence that Dahlin is going to be an all star. I don't know that his game garners that kind of attention. He's doing things at that age that very few have done, but he doesn't have the super high end flash that gets media attention. Maybe it shows up as his game matures?

Closest I've come is playing against a Philly draft pick in a pick up game at Sabreland. He was a mid or late round pick. Holy ***** was he good. Way better than the rest of us slobs. I stayed the hell away when he wound up for a slapper.

I don't see how the NHL could use a skater for EBU. The time it takes a player to dress in goalie gear would result in too much delay in the game. The skates are so different that any non-goalie would be really bad in any plays that required post to post movement. Is a team selecting one skater to have this role season long? How many sets of gear would the team need to have on hand? Noone is going to allow themselves to stand in front of an NHL shot for 30 shots a game with ill fitting equipment. Any solution is going to be sub optimal. And extremely rarely used.

I really don't udnerstand the criticism for the deadline day moves. We got Simmonds for a next to nothing draft pick and moved two guys that noone saw as having a future on the team for a guy that does have a future on the team. Jbott's had plenty of opportunity, but deadline day 2020 isn't an example of it.

I'm on Sam's side. But Freeman made a good point. Sam has a great chance here to step up with Jack having an issue of some sort. I'd love to see Sam find an extra gear and try to make up for what Jack is missing right now. But either Sam doesn't have that extra gear or he hasn't put it on display for some reason. This is one of those "the team needs you" moments and Sam hasn't really answered the bell. It's disappointing for sure. One thing Jack has been consistent about is, he really picks up his game when he is playing against the guys he was compared to around his draft time, McDavid and Matthews. Their success seems to be a source of motivation for Jack. Draisaitle has stepped up and is doing his damndest to make up for McDavid. We really need Sam to take note of that and work to one up his draft comparable.

IMO Regier was let go due to market pressure (fans) and not job performance. I think Jbotts future rests in the hands of fan reaction as well. If the end of the season has the fans in revolt yet again, Jbott doesn't stand a chance.
