Yeah, I suppose we just really can’t trade Jack if we eliminate the entire eastern conference and any team in memory that got the better of us in a trade. Seems awful counter productive to handcuff ourselves in that way. IMO bottom line if it is a given that Javk is moving on, he goes to the highest bidder. And I really dont give a ***** if he goes to even a most hated team if it maximizes our return.

This is mostly where I am at, but I think the “right” 2C could be effective enough to move ahead. Obviously the other pieces would need adjustment to compensate.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t attempted to keep track of who is in which camp and what the details of the two sides consist of. I just know what I want to see. And I’m not sure what you are asking, if its a futures based trade we can’t compete, or if Jack is traded we can’t compete? I suspect the 1st is most likely accurate and suspect with the right players coming back in the 2nd we should be competitive. I’d have to see the return to comment.

I don’t want a rebuild. I’m certainly OK with a few players gone if they don’t want to be here, even if it is out star players. But there is no reason it has to set us back. The return has to be correct of course, but losing Jack, Sam, and Risto does not have to be a step backwards. A return that makes next season hopeful is certainly possible, but it can’t be a futures heavy return. It can’t look like what we did 8 yrs ago when we moved everything for lottery tickets. holy poorly structured paragraph, Batman!

Bezos, Bloomberg, Buffet, Soros, Musk have all managed to pay 0 income taxes at times. My only concern with this plan is, any team that would be trading a real good player for the chance to draft Power (I saw that twitch, liger) is a team that is adjusting their timeline. Otherwise, what would be their motivation? So I’m not sure we’d get a really good 23-25 yr old player. More likely we’d get a player of UFA age, 27ish. Depending on the player I might be on board, but the field would be pretty narrow methinks.

The act of moving Jacks injured neck doesn’t give you a reference?

When Jack went to the bench after the injury occurred the trainer on the bench moved Jacks head/neck and Jacks response (all on camera) was a mix of pain, shock, anger.

I have no “after” imaging to back it up, but my herniation took 2-3 years to really get back to normal. At 6 months I was still quite affected.

I seem to recall a Sabre who broke an ankle and had lasting effects, but I don’t have a name. I am old and feeble so I may be all wet here.

I’d hate be the guy that has to weigh out the risk/reward analysis on this player now. Could make or break a front office career.
