I’m ready for it to end. There is nothing at the end of this particular tunnel. Let’s start it up again in October and see how deep the hole goes.

I think right about now Boston would evaluate that he is not a Bruin type player. Like Joe Thornton. Maybe that changes by the time his contract is up.

PA, I’m breaking the streak. @Inky, there is no way those were consecutive games you were watching if it was twice a night. I guess I wasn’t the only one rooting for shutouts.

Apparently I missed all the fun again.

I expect that the original plan was to make sure the Amerks got in the playoffs for the competition. But when nearly all of the Amerks worth mentioning ended up in Buffalo, the need for a higher level of competition was negated. Change of plan. Keep them up. What was a list of Krebs, Quinn, JJP, Mule, Fitz, Bryson, I’m sure I am missing someone, is now just Quinn and JJP. The priority to get the Amerks into the playoffs to get this list of kids playing at a higher competitive level was reduced.

You and I appear to share the same memories. This lines up well with my experience.

Think bigger.

It was an Amerks game as MJD1001 mentions.

Lots of them. While I have been a fan for as long as I have a memory, I never obsessed over the details of any given season. The big picture items remain seared into my grey matter, but the individual items that make up the bigger picture get lost for every year. Frankly, I am amazed at the level of detail you guys retain from even 12-15 seasons ago.

Are you really asking me to fully flesh out a hot take? 😂

Hot take: A good to very good young player is going to be moved in this offseason for a very good veteran player. Getting to the cap floor will be partially why. A bunch of us are going to be really disappointed and vocal about the player that goes, but in the end it’ll be a good hockey trade.

What? too soon?

Correction noted. And how ironic is it the the USS The Sullivans was made a home in the one region of the nation that prefaces all of their points of interest with “the”? She was destined to finish out her time in Buffalo.

There really is no cost effective solution for a ship who has exceeded her service life by a significant amount, and doesn’t have a deep pocketed source of funds to make her right. She’s not a Navy vessel any longer so the Dept of the Navy isn’t going to pay to have her fixed, and Buffalo Naval Park budget surely can’t stand the cost of transport, dry dock, repair, and transport back. Shes a great story, and an awesome piece of history. But she’s way past her service lifespan. And she just doesn’t generate the interest to justify some entity transporting and fixing her properly.

1. Wow would that be expensive. 2. Probably would have significant environmental impact. Its an 80 yr old ship that needs substantial repair. The name has been passed on to another active duty ship. It doesn’t make sense to put that much investment into a limited use museum that requires significant upkeep and maintenance. She’s served well and honorably. Her time has come.

I don’t think they have the real estate to fit it

I doubt it, but I love that Tage’s performance this season makes the conversation possible.

I have said before, we don’t have any goalies until we actually have goalies. You gotta sign a legit NHL starter. We can’t afford to gamble on one or both of Portillo and Levi to sign and develop to their ceilings.

Comfortable? No. Cautiously optimistic? Yea. Still depends on the unknowns of continued player development, sustainability of Thompsons amazing season, a goalie, and Quinn and maybe Peterka sliding in successfully.

First Roc game I watched this season. My take was, individuals playing as individuals, and little discipline especially on the powerplay. Peterka reminded me of Afinogenov, and not in the good way.

Was a good time. Wish I felt better about the guys in Roc after this one though. Ugh.
