  1. I don't care if McDermott independently hired Beane directly. It's working. Isn't that what really matters?
  2. The southern hemisphere has opposite seasons from us. Our winter is their summer. Not sure if that's relevant at all. But, if the virus is consistent in both hemispheres, that would imply, at least to me, that it's not seasonal.
  3. This is unprecedented. No hockey in Canada. No NBA in America. No soccer in Europe or South America. No rugby in Australia or New Zealand. No UFC anywhere on the globe. Restaurants, movie theaters and schools are closed. Anyone still comparing carona to the flu is, at best.... naive?
  4. You and Eleven should stop ruining the narrative with accuracy.
  5. Very interesting.
  6. If the season is pushed past June 30th, is there a clause in the contracts that allows them to also be pushed. Does the NHL have some legal wiggle room here?
  7. Serious question, because I just don't understand it, why do people seem to have a problem with Bazos being wealthy?
  8. What Beane paid for Diggs is a fair price. The Hopkins trade is ROR level bad, possibly worse. I don't think it's fair to use that one as any sort of standard.
  9. Yes.
  10. Diggs is awesome! Very happy about this.
  11. They are both very good. Love Bosch. Hunters was good. Goliath I enjoyed very much. He are half way through Homeland right now.
  12. My wife was telling me about a guy that was flying into Nashville, where we live. He told one of the stewardesses he had the Corona virus, jokingly he said later. Passengers were delayed eight hours, he was arrested and permanently banned from that airline. What a jerk. I go home tomorrow. Still don't know if I should be worried about flying and should drive back. Can't decide
  13. I think maybe we're just talking past each other. There factors to consider when deciding to use flux or MIG, such as weather/environment. If you're incorporating that when you talk about process, than you're correct. Once the machine is set up, the application process for the filler metal is the same, which is what I'm referring to. 6010 and 7018 are just rods, the run on the same polarity. I know you know that because it's as basic as it gets. I know it's difficult to infer context(thanks Eleven!?) through text but I don't mean that in a condescending way. I know you're intelligent and knowledgeable. That's why I think we're talking past each other. Things are getting muddled.
  14. Again, as I said upthread, MIG uses an 80% argon mix as a shielding gas. The "flux" IS the shielding gas and comes on the wire, just like the 6010 and 7018 rods you use in stick welding. The application process is the exact same, which is much different than stick, and much different than TIG. You know that. I would have no possible way of knowing how long an apprenticeship would be at YOUR specific job that entails much more than welding. I was referencing a pipe fitter local, but you knew that too.
  15. No ***** it's a different wire! I've said that twice. It's still the same ***** process. All you do is take two minutes to swap out the spools. It's a fact you can't dispute. The apprenticeship at the local I mentioned is ONE year, not the FOUR that you pulled out of your ass. Call them and ask. All you need is a GED to enroll in a welding program. Fact. Call any trade school that offers it and ask. You disputed that I could do all the processes on one machine. I showed you the machine I use and your reply was to tell me what you use that Can't do it. Not my fault I use better machines than your employer provides, get pissy with them about it. No. Everything I've posted regarding welding is factual and can be verified through a Google search, with the possible exception of the referenced local regarding length of apprenticeship which could take a phone call if it can't be found on the website. I'm more knowledgeable than he assumed and use better equipment than he does, and he's being pissy.
  16. What prior training? They went to a trade school. Anyone with a GED can do it. It's not hard. I use a LE31MP for the three processes. Three, not four, as flux core IS MIG with a flux core wire. If you're unfamiliar with the machine I'd be happy to walk you through it.
  17. Two students from my Feb class were accepted last week. Local 91 in Birmingham is also hiring. Jobs are out there.
  18. Local 572 in Nashville is hiring. Journeymen start at $35/he after completing their apprenticeship program. Consider moving.
  19. You actually do use the same machine for all four processes. Three processes, being that MIG AND FCAW are the exact same process, you just use a flux core wire in FCAW, which is what the FC stands for. The difference between MIG and FCAW is as significant as writing with blue ink as opposed to black ink. You of course know that being that you train people. You use a stinger for stick welding. For MIG you disconnect the stinger, attach the hose, run the wire through it, and use an 80% argon mix as a shielding gas. For TIG you attach a different hose, the collet, collet body, tungsten and use a 100% argon as a shielding gas. Same machine though. You already know this of course, being that you train people. It's societies fault. No ones responsible for their own actions. Success is given, not earned. Don't you know that?
  20. You remember I was I single parent when 9/11 happened, my oldest son not dealing with my deployment very well and attempting suicide, being involuntarily separated from the Army because I had to come home and take care of him? Living in the 15th st projects and working at Friendly's at 32 years old? I've been there too, remember? Like you, I bounced back. Like you, I worked hard, was disciplined, and sacrificed. I'm not judging anyone. I'm saying most people, not all, but most, can better their life if they really want to. You know I'm right.
  21. Yes, you had struggles, most of us do. You worked hard, you got through it, and you will again. So can others.
  22. Im guessing you meant to quote me? Where's Jonny's hypothetical deadbeat baby mama? Dead? No parents to help out? Who's taking care of his daughter while he's working evenings at the arena? Those same people couldn't watch his daughter while he learns a trade and makes better money doing uber? Janie's mom can't even afford her own food? She must also be living with Janie. Must be on the same intellectual spectrum as poor Jordan, who must be a product of the system, held back by the man. Poor little guy.
  23. Can't drive a truck because your on meds? The country is short of qualified welders. You can also make $600/wk doing uber/Lyft. What do want to add to your hypothetical scenario now? Eleven, not trying to be a dick, but I also missed what you're referring to. Is my current conversation part of what you're referring to?
