I'll do... Tyler Myers Drew Stafford BUF 2nd rounder For Evander kane Zach bogosian 1st rounder
-
That seems really steep in cost, no thx
-
I honestly think that it's pretty sad that some of you have already decided to throw Zadorov to the wolves. Myers takes a lot of flak from the board mainly due to his soft play while being so big physically. That doesn't mean however that Myers is a complete bust all it means is that his likelihood of becoming Chara at least in terms of style is very unlikely. Zadorov strikes me as very similar to a Chris Pronger type of player. What we have to stop doing is wanting players to literally become other players while wishing a player become similar is legitimate to expect anyone to perfectly match up to Hall of Famers is absurd. That being said I would love Myers to play with a mean streak but even if he doesn't, working harder in the corners and on the puck coupled with his speed and skating ability in general makes him just as valuable in a sense. After all Chara is like an elephant on the ice not very graceful. Myers will play like Myers and Zadorov will play like Zadorov.

I hope to God we don't give them Myers + for Kane, I'll likely have a stroke caused by my pent up anger. I'll take Bogosian and Kane + a 3rd for Myers + a 2nd
-
Zadorov technically should be in the AHL, but since that wasn't possible he was a better off in the NHL than the OHL/KHL. Might he play some games in Rochester, maybe, but it would be short and likely more for rehab or the like.

I'd say Carrier is more a decent level prospect
-
Armia is better than a decent prospect. He's a high end prospect, If they want Armia they get a 2nd, if you give them a decent (slightly above average) prospect you can give them a 1st.
-
I feel the Jets GM is overvaluing Kane ever so slightly. He seems to be expecting about 2 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder in return for him. The offer being jostled around is Stafford/Stewart, Armia/Grigs, and the NYI/StL 1st for Evander Kane Stafford and Stewart are very similar in value varying from a low 1st (oddities do happen ex: Gaustad) to at minimum a 3rd & 5th rounder. Armia and Grigs are both still worth 1st round picks due to their age and potential, along with their advancement in the prospect hierarchy. The two other 1sts are obviously worth a 1st a piece however both have the possibility of being as high as the 15th pick even with both of them making the playoffs. In this heavily skilled draft, a 15th to 20th overall would include what last year was likely in the 5th-10th area. We got Zadorov around there. v.s. Kane is a very good player with the potential to be great, even elite in his style of play however his stats barely outdo Tyler Ennis whose been on easily as bad or worse teams. Kane on average misses 1 month of each season Has 1 30 goal season and was on pace for 30 in the lockout year aside from that hasn't hit 20 since This doesn't even mention his off ice baggage he carries with him At best I feel he's worth about 1 1st round and 2 2nd rounders thus my highest offer would be Stafford/Stewart, Armia/Grigs, and the NYI 2nd if possible or else the BUF 2nd for Evander Kane A 1-3 round pick in conversion, a 1st, and 2nd. If the going rate for Stew or Staff is a 2nd, you give them BUF's 2nd because its practically locked in around 31 to 33 already. If you can trade either for a 1st, give them the NYI 2nd. Thus in essence you are swapping present and future 1st/2nd line wingers Stafford/Armia for example for the Jets present and future winger in Kane while adding a 2nd in good faith in order to hedge Armia's chances of doing well along with Stafford's decision to resign or not.

I want Gibson, and if traded, want Myers out of the conference just in case he does become Chara-like regardless of the likelyhood
-
I certainly hope not, that's senile.

I wouldn't trade Ennis for Kane solely based on Kane's baggage.
-
Myers may end up traded in that case, I think Gorges is having a maintenance day most likely.
-
Yes I would want that if I were Winnipeg, but I don't think they can get it anymore. Kane has become a problem child and his value has dropped supposedly. I'll give them Stewart, Ruhwedal, and our 2nd for Kane, but nothing more.

ESPN broadcasting hockey again: World Cup of Hockey

They had better bring back Gary Thorne to do announcing, at least it would play off of nostalgia. -
I have no problem with Dunleavey's announcement. He seems to do an adequate job if only he could show a bit more his personality like RJ did and does still during in in between the periods. However he is certainly better than Kevin Slvester or some random guy that they picked up off the street.

It would be beautiful even if they don't miss the playoffs if they lose in the first round. Seeing ass then the pick Is in the late tens. So while their season stats really doesn't matter, their playoff exit is all I'm concerned about. Not to mention I highly doubt the Islanders are going to pull a Toronto Maple Leafs collapse.

What I wouldn't mind as if the Sabres won as well at any time that they were still four points up on any other team. If we were to go 31-0 want to know as one of our posters said earlier we would likely lose the prospects on the team. I have no interest in starting at square one again. So for example if the Oilers win in their upcoming game in Buffalo get allowed to win against St. Louis. And that works with any other team that may come close such as Phoenix or Toronto or even the LA Kings. Six points might be a bit more conservative but I wouldn't mind seeing the Sabres win more than 20 games this season

I'd be far more inclined to get Myers out of the division. The Red Wings are the only exception mainly due to the return they can give us. After seeing Larkin in the world juniors with Reinhart I'd be at least interested in him. Ideally I would send Myers to the LA Kings or Anaheim ducks seeing as they're outside of the division and still have good things to give us.

GDT: Sabres at Montreal 2-3-2015 7:30 PM EST MSG, WGR

Girgensons played over 22 minutes during the game, 3rd on the team in skaters (Myers, Gorges) And seemed to win a ton of faceoffs in that crucial final 5 minutes. Enroth has always seemed to be a borderline starter, he's not consistent enough season-wide however his skill is certainly starter grade. What happened to Flynn, he used to be so trustworthy, like a Girgs-lite, but he's seem to have just become incapable of any offensive play. I was certainly happy though for both the losing streak breaker and Gorges and Gionta getting the win. -

Sabres win 4-3 in OT after a weak goal thus sparking thoughts that Miller let them win. -
I like the idea of Jagr Just imagine Jagr ending his career with a most recent Superstar after he began his career next to one.

Good sir, then tell me how LA plans to magically sign 8 players with 3 mil in cap space
-
I see no reason for us to be in the Top 3 picks next year aside from "winning the lottery" Steps to success 1. Draft McEichel 2. Trade Hodgson(25%) and Stafford/Stewart to LAK for Mike Richards and Tyler Toffoli/Tanner Pearson Toffoli is a RFA at the end of the year and with the cap potentially not rising, it could spell doom for the LAK in keeping all their solid players. They will have (including Voynov and Richards) 14 players under contract with 1.5mil in cap space if the cap stays the same. (This is mainly due to Muzzin and Martinez getting 3mil a piece raises next year) with 7 RFAs and 4 UFAs really unless the cap jumps 8 million next year they will be in serious trouble. 3. Sign Justin Williams 4. Sign a Vet Dman for the #5/6 spot 5. Sign Niemi and a backup (may include one of our present goalies) Just with that we'd have Moulson-McEichel-Toffoli Ennis-Reinhart-Girgs Williams-Richards-Gionta 44-McCormick-Kaleta/Flynn Myers-Gorges Risto-Zadorov Pysyk-Vet Dman Niemi Backup G That seems to me to be at least a serviceable team that would reach the middle region of the standings.
