Gives us draft capital and rids us of a malcontent.
-
Brown/Quick is - .5 So 1.5 + -0.5 +1 + 1 +1 = 4
-
Well technically I'm taking either Turcotte + Vilardi or Byfield but otherwise you are right
-
They would probably want us to based on the fact we would be gutting that ELC pool 🙂 Plus I'm trying to get as much as physically possible.

Here's an idea based on the supposed WPG interest in Risto Risto(50%) and Pick #33 to WPG for WPG's 1st this year (Barring a Top 4 Finish of course) (#17 to #23 or so) and WPG's 2nd in 2022.

I would require Byfield, and my only willingness to bargain would be with Turcotte + Vilardi. Effectively I either want their Top Center prospect or their #2&3. Kempe certainly makes sense We will need to take some kind of cap dump; ideally we get Dustin Brown since he's a leader and from Ithaca. More likely they would want to give us Quick, his primary problem would be barring a huge bounce back to adequacy; we'd be forced to bury him or re-trade him just to get a solid 1/2 punch in net. From there I'd want #8 and a lottery protected 1st in 2022. I'd imagine they would think they'd have a good enough team to make the playoffs with a center group of Eichel-Kopitar-Byfield. That gives us 4 1sts effectively. Kempe+Vilardi = 1.5 1sts Turcotte = 1 1st Brown = -.5 1sts 1st in 2021 = 1 1st 1st in 2022/23 - 1 1st For Buffalo we'd shed approximately 300 to 400k on the salary cap depending on Brown/Quick. Gain 2 young NHL players and a prospect C with a vet for 1/2 years and a pair of 1sts to help flood our prospect pool with potential.

Had he even shown 1% of what he has done in Boston I might not hate him as much.

Certainly they are very entertaining.

Keep Granato at HC, hire Gronborg to be his associate coach and then find a former NHL head coach who is without a job to be his assistant. Perhaps make Girardi an assistant; but I think he and Ellis would do better at being development coaches. Then we’d have a guy who has already connected with many players in Granato, a seasoned former HC to bounce ideas off and a innovative guy from Europe to give further ideas.

ROR is returning?!? lol I won't be angry with Beniers or Power; both are highly solid and safe draft picks. I need to know how serious Beniers' ankle injury is however
-
I'd certainly be cautiously optimistic about Gronborg; guy is smart and understands hockey strategy and tactics.
-
Ekblad isn't bad, he slumped after a few concussions but was very good this year. I'd love the ability to throw Dahlin and Ekblad at opposing teams either as a pair or on separate pairs.
-
I'd certainly be very interested in Gronberg as an Associate Coach; just getting him here in some regards may assist our team.
-
Gallant is my personal favorite but he may just not be interested in this job.
-
Great beard, perhaps a European coach has the answers we need? Again though, great beard.

Beniers is still my favorite however much like Power, he's a more or less jack of all trades type of player versus an elite player in any respective category. (his speed is the closest thing he has to elite level talent) While I'd rather take Beniers, Power would certainly not make me go into any depressive spiral.
-
In their respective draft years Byram > Sanderson > Power > Seider (Remember he was seen as a huge reach by Detroit) Nowadays all three are better than Power but that doesn't say much due to their respective ages. I don't hate Power, I think he'll become a solid defenseman and perhaps a #2/#3 Dman. He's calm, cool, and collected; does everything well; skates well...etc His hang ups are that he has no truly elite talent and his lack of a mean streak for a guy his size.
-
I would guess so, really only the KHL seems to prevent players from coming to the US

Davidsson, that is a name I haven’t heard in a great many years.... After Year 1 he went Houdini and vanished into thin air.

If Eichel is traded, what is your desired package?
thewookie1 replied to #freejame's topic in The Aud Club
No way in hell am I trading Eichel and a Top 3 pick for Lafreniere and Kakko. The only way our 1st is involved is for McDavid or a tiny pick swap. (For instance #3 to #7) Aside from Fox, not one of the Rangers youngsters really intrigue me. Kakko is a winger and Lafreniere is more of a winger style as well. Not to mention neither have done much to impress thus far. -
Toronto Lost the North and Well Beaten SabreSpace Horses

I'm sorry to say but this is one of the most asinine reasonings I ever read. I don't care if the rule was idiotic and the goal itself was well played; the goal shouldn't of counted. And I for one would of been fine winning a Cup that way just as much I doubt Dallas ever feels bad about having it fall their way. Most of the evidence we have received over the years has been mostly from post-game news sources. This supposed fax clarifying/adjusting the rule being at the top of this chart; we have no verification or proof that it was sent league wide in January of 99 besides the league itself saying so. The fact that similar goals were disallowed well past January and into the playoffs is certainly evidence against that. We all know the league screwed up with the lack of any review and had internally wanted the Stars to win to invigorate their entire Hockey-seeding the South plan. After seeing backlash they quickly sidestepped blame and created "reasons" why it should count. Just imagine how much pressure the NHL was under to solve this problem quickly; if they reviewed it and saw it should not of been a goal what exactly could they do after the fact? Have them replay Game 6 and perhaps a Game 7? Put asterisks around the win thus putting a bad look on the NHL and its officiating. To me, the most telling part is how the league abolished the rule that very offseason to thus avoid it ever happening again. The NHL could of fallen into the rabbit hole the "Tuck" rule would only a few years later plague their league and to this day cause great controversy league wide. Instead outside of Buffalo, rarely do general NHL fans mention the infamous crease goal besides Brett Hull who rubs it in our faces anytime he can. So to me it was all effectively a cover up to hide the fact that a terrible rule had quite literally decided the Cup winner. By siding with the "ruling on field" they avoided further controversy at the cost of Buffalo and its fans. Begs to question if this was why the NHL and Bettman have protected the Sabres from moving and have apologized on the situation years later multiple times. -
I'm not saying just wipe your hands of it, but we can't force him not to go the surgery route as much as we all disagree with the idea. If Eichel honestly believes it will solve his problem, then he can waive his NMC for a year so that at minimum he can prove he's healthy and if he is and is still wanting out we can play accordingly.

I hope Graves is ok, I had hoped if we could find a way to poach him.
