Low end yes

I only slightly disagree, develop your own stars but you can bring in one or two. You can’t however bring in all your stars. Chicago brought in Hossa, LA brought in Carter and Richards. The vital part is they mesh with your already existing stars. It’s not the upgrade part that is an issue; it’s the more the “upgrades” they made. When your team goes to the Cup Finals, it makes sense to try and get that piece that puts you over the edge. Vegas seems to be perpetually in that state but even more so cannibalizing their own base. Was Petroangelo an upgrade over Schmidt, yes but by what degree? Schmidt had stepped up over his time in Vegas and had grown into a great player while there. Then after signing an extension to stay there and having a solid season he was jettisoned for a slightly older but more generally viewed better Dman. Vegas didn’t push depth down, they effectively traded the homegrown guy for a new shiny object who was marginally better. Vegas has done that a few times already at this point and I’d guess players don’t exactly like that sort of “improvement.” Additionally there’s a degree of honor that comes with growing with a team. If you give your team everything you have; you feel entitled to at very least get some degree of loyalty in return. How they dealt with Fleury was appalling but even worse was the whole Dadanov situation. Vegas went into this season with a need for a 1C and needing to likely deal Fleury due to cap restrictions. So they dump Fleury, their Vezina winning goalie at the side of the road to get cap space. Everyone assumed it was to get Eichel. Then they deal a mid round pick for an expensive winger in Dadonov whom was a completely unnecessary move. If Vegas had depth anywhere it was at the wings. Just off the top of my head they had: Patches, Stone, Smith, Marsh, Tuch(injured), Carrier, Kolesar, Janmark, Reeves and Nosek. Some of which also played center but anyone with half a brain could see their weakness was center depth, especially Top 6 center depth. Trading for Dadonov made no sense and preceded to close the cap space Fleury’s departure created. From there they somehow never learned of his NTC and tried trading him after 50 games with the team. It doesn’t look good for a team to trade for a player and then within a year attempt to dump them with a literal bribe. Why go to Vegas with your family if you might be moving again within 8 months because a new shiny toy came available?

You need to find backups with potential, none of those three have any.

Mrazek, Pickard or Driedger...... Mrazek is a terrible goalie who has a snowball's chance in hell of ever playing well. His problems aren't ones that can be fixed; he loses his net constantly and looks to block pucks making him even more susceptible to being easily deked or passed around. Pickard, a career backup Driedger had 1 good year and then turned back into a pumpkin

What is the best draft pick spots we can get with 2 wins? 10th? 15/16th for Vegas 28th for Florida?
-
Eichel I guess lol Technically Ristolainen last year and Taylor Hall for the handful of games he played under Granato.

Tage loves those 1 color Bills hats lol

Amerks truly blew it against the Cleveland Monsters twice and are now on literal life support. In the 3rd the Amerks peppered Cleveland with shots from every location and yet couldn't get 1 puck past a goalie with only 2 prior pro games under his belt.

Hmm, in round 1 whoever plays the Leafs Calgary LA Kings and I don’t hate Minnesota. I honestly want to see the fallout from LAK beating Edmonton and Tampa/Boston beating the Leafs.

My Great-grandparents had 4 season tickets and my father would take them and myself for a few games each year. In 2000-2001 I went to 23 games, went to a few playoff games and as a 8 year old it was incredible. The 05-06 team got me into the Sabres as a teenager. Then after high school and the half-season lockout I began watching most to all the games because I hated being unable to watch hockey for that half year. Oddly enough, I have watched about 90% of the games since the 12-13 season even with me being tortured by their losing. RJ calls have always stuck in my brain; specifically the Drury tie goal against the Rangers because I had to miss the game to "work" my 8th grade dance. (I manned the snack shop so I could listen to the game) I just remember listening to that game and when the Sabres tied it my ears did that sound limiting effect because how loud everyone got. (A bunch of my classmates joined me when it was late in the 3rd as the dance had been finishing up. Interestingly enough, the 7th grade dance occurred the night of that absurd Sabres vs Ottawa playoff game where the score changed so much that the DJ got confused by the updates.

Cozens will be fine! He's getting the shots and the chances. Dogged determination and eventually they'll either go in or start creating rebounds. Another solid victory. They outplayed the Isles most of the game and never let either of the Isle comeback attempt phase them. -

I'm wondering if Dahlin's move to RHD has actually made him better. (Not that Mule doesn't play a role in this) Being on his off-side seems to get him to play more aggressive and keep continuously skating. He's not standing as much as he does at LHD, he knows that he needs to be moving to make sure he has strong leverage on the puck where as on his strong side he can more easily assume it half the time. -
Did not realize the Sabres were 31st in attendance...pathetic

That was a lead balloon in water over the Marianas Trench. Buffalo will spend money on a team that wins. The Bills actually do come close to selling out every game; the weather tends to be the biggest factor in regards to attendance to the games. The Sabres belong in Buffalo, no where else. Sure, threaten the fans; always a great idea -

Amerks control their destiny, winning out clinches a spot. Losses will add needs to outside help. -
So since the Eichel game we have played at a low end playoff team level effectively

He was also instrumental on Dahlin's 1st goal as well. -

The best news is that his draft pick was completely out of left field so even if he busts we aren’t completely screwed like we were with Nylander. Nonetheless I still have hope for Rosen. I’ll never understand that pick the more I read about it. Both BPA and Position said pick a Dman. The Pegulas, known for their input on the hockey team, had direct contact with 1 of the Dmen. Forton obviously loved McAvoy and Sergachev was also available, but was a dreaded Russian. What in God’s name possessed Murray to think a small dynamic winger(in theory) was the best option? -

Thought you said Power “in” goal tonight and got very concerned -
Olofsson’s shot is back, that’s pretty much the PP’s boost.
