To be honest I think he’s merely following the script he planned and is unwilling to deviate barring obvious help. He wants to win but sees little value in making moves that may negatively affect the vibes. I want moves but I’m also on the conservative side. I’m disinterested in giant risk-laden trades. So I don’t want Parynko or Provorov or to trade Savoie/Kulich All in all I’m disappointed in the lack of help but not pulling out my hair over it

I could also see Buffalo being unwilling to only go Top 5 protection or up it further than what Ottawa paid. Ottawa's pick is still more likely to be lower than ours since even with our issues; we have an explosive offense which Ottawa can't exactly match. We have 30 more goals this year in one fewer game. Additionally what is more likely to happen Buffalo with Chychrun falling apart or Ottawa with Chychrun falling apart. We have a Norris Candidate and and a Rocket Richard contender (minus McDavid) Personally I hate we missed out on him but from Arizona's angle it makes sense. Arizona is counting on Ottawa being bodied out of the playoffs and missing.

Jokiharju should let every fan in attendance punch him after that game he played tonight. Especially for whatever the hell he was doing on the ENG. Where the hell was he looking or going? He was looked into the corner and skated over in that direction never once looking at the guy who would shoot it through his legs to score.

Pretty much this; they are hoping to get the Stillman from 2/3 years ago back and use his physicality when needed as a 6/7. Hate the trade at this time but I do understand a bit more now about their motives. KA is more or less saying Clague and Bryson are on thin ice and that he definitely sees a deficiency there. He's also believes his struggles aren't a reflection of his off-ice persona and thus not a potential problem in that regard. While he certainly overpaid; its not as if he paid a 1st for him. Or pulled a Murray and traded 2 2nds + for a AHL fighter and a prospect. He's hoping to get another Jost; a player who has some talent that is in a spiral but still young and potentially salvageable.
