  1. Or we will be talking about how great of a draft the upcoming year will be and how Bettman and the NHL conspiracy screwed Buffalo out of McMichael. ....
  2. This whole situation is embarrassing, but that doesn't make it untrue, Johnson was not brought in because hey think he is a better option then Neuvirth, they got rid of him because they didn't want to come up with an excuse for sitting him the rest of the year and he was playing well enough to possibly cost them the precious #30th spot. If they didn't care about that and they felt he was their goalie of the future he would have been made an offer to stay. This move was a dump to continue to lose and get another pick
  3. actually, it's more like this year we take the remaining cash, savings and credit we have left to our name in order to buy lottery tickets to get out of debt...
  4. Pens fans have no recollection of tanking because they didn't tank to get Crosby. Sure after the Lemieux years they where some bad teams, but a lot of that had to also do with bankruptcy. They never intentionally gutted their team of competent talent in order to end up in 30th to get Crosby. FACT, it wasn't possible to "TANK" for Crosby because there was no season played the year Crosby was drafted. They literally won the lottery to get him. But believe what you want about how other teams have done what Buffalo is doing right now.....
  5. I would laugh my butt off counting my money as the sheep sit there and enjoy the crap that I allowed to be put on the ice in the arena I own because theres at best a 20% chance of getting a really good player. Then I would call up other owners in the league and laugh some more as I can't believe people are still paying money for this..........
  6. Enroth was a good 1b goalie, better backup goalie. He is not going to be a #1 starter on a good team They are going to need to find a #1 guy somewhere this offseason (or before March) Niemi could be an option, trading for a high prospect guy like Fucale or Subban might be where he goes (I would prefer Subban over Fucale, I wasn't impressed with Fucale in the past 2 Juniors, seemed like he looked better then he did because of the team in front of him, he didn't look like a superstar) Another option could be a trade for one of the Sens goalies (didn't Murray say he liked the one?) or Toronto is supposed to be making Bernier available (that would be my top choice)
  7. Think the Jets flip Myers to Detroit or Anaheim now?
  8. I wish the deal would include Buff, but I doubt he would be moved with Kane since he was the one who apparently threw the track suit into the shower
  9. I heard the same thing about Paille while he was in Buffalo, he was one of those kids who continued with hockey because he was talented as a kid with it, but his heart want always into it and he continued just because it was expected of him. There are many in the league who go through this.
  10. Part owners of the Leafs just gave the league $5.2 billion for TV rights in Canada, their team has fans ready to riot and throwing jerseys on the ice, with many saying they have given up and don't watch games anymore. I wouldn't dismiss this too quickly, Toronto would love a marketable player like McDavid to bring them back to glory, and don't dismiss the NHL helping out the guys who made them much richer. There was an article today too where McDavid says it would be a dream for him to become a Leaf
  11. Listening to a local radio station this morning, they were talking about the Leafs situation and how they need a franchise guy fans can gather and cheer for even when they are bad. The guy brought up a conspiracy theory to keep in mind if/when the Leafs lottery ball is chosen for McDavid. They brought up the fact that Rogers is part owner of the Leafs with Bell, Rogers did just make the league very rich with their bid for exclusive Canadian right to hockey, now the NHL can pay them back with the 1st overall pick. Just something to think about if they win the lottery......
  12. People do realise Stewart is playing so well so he can get the hell out of Buffalo, who do to think Nolan was directing his comment about playing to get noticed to? They aren't going to keep him, he's gone once TM gets a good offer.
  13. There's talk Kane and management are at odds and Kane may opt to take the rest of the year off and get surgery because of the benching and his issues with the team
  14. So I guess it wouldn't be a bold prediction that the team coming in without a regulation loss 12 games will lose to the last place team in the league?
  15. I have to agree as a goalie with the save percentage in relation to quality of the team in front. The only thing a good better team in front will usually help is the number of shots faced, and personally I like facing more shots because it keeps me active on the ice more. It's the quality of the shots faced that can affect save percentage, facing shots that hit you in the chest really helps bump up the percentage. As for Enroth as a starter, I also agree that I don't think he is a #1 guy, he is a very good #1a/b in a tandem situation and a really good backup, but I don't see him being a solid #1 guy who will carry a team like a Price, Quick, Miller, Louongo type
  16. There is no amount of time, it all depends on the player/person. Some players can step in and contribute earlier then others who can take years. It can also depend on the team and the situation the team puts the player in. Usually the player takes longer if they are thrown into a spot where Lot is expected from them compared to a player who is not expected to be a big producer immediately
  17. So picking the last place team to beat one of the first place teams is not making a bold prediction because your a fan of the last place team? Yeah, that makes sense What makes what Nolan said so wrong? What other motivation would any player on this team have right now to show up besides playing well being a way to punch tour ticket out of this mess of a team and into a potential playoff team?
  18. Schrader (posting from my phone and can't quote your "and Toronto will?" comment) I only said sniff the playoffs, the Leafs will do that. It's also the reason why Montreal was willing to move him there originally
  19. I think they just count thebfollowers who 'like' or Retweet something WGR posts
  20. If you think the players good you don't deal him to a team you play against many times a year and will be competing for a playoff spot with. Trading him to the Sabres won't come back to bite the Habs because they probably won't be sniffing the playoffs til Gorges contract is almost up
  21. Yeah, Gorges choices were go to Toronto which he vetoed already because of the Mon/Tor rivalry, go to Buffalo with Gionta, or stay with a team that was actively trying to get rid of him wherever they could. (Montreal thought he was so great they were willing to move them to a heated rival that they would play many times a year)
  22. But when has Toronto ever done anything right?
  23. During the Leafs/Canes Debacle (Well Debacle if you follow the Leafs) they said that Sekera is easily a top 4 defencemen on good NHL teams
  24. Florida and Atlanta/winnipeg are 2 teams the sabres always seen to struggle against no matter how good or bad either team are. Watched the first period, then switched to watch the Canada game and didn't even finish watching that game which became a blowout, figured I could use the time to prime and paint some furniture in the basment.....
  25. Reinhart and Domi have been probably Canadas top players, probably throw in Lazar too. Would love to see Domi here, he could play on a line with Lemieux, if only Ray had a kid their age with Hockey skill.....
