  1. I think the league favours Pittsburgh more. Crosby is getting older and they are going to need to restore the Pens talent pool.... The Leafs still have some time with their players before they get old
  2. How does any GM/Team convince players to tank? There are teams and players not in favour of playing. Just tell the players that the sooner they are out, the sooner they get to go back home to their families. Teams tanking now in this 'play in' playoffs are just as likely to tank as any organization would be during the regular season......
  3. Hard to say, with a new GM that has no track record to go off of, we don't have an idea what he's gonna do. We knew with TM he would fall in love with players and pay whatever it took to get them. With JB, we knew that he wanted a Sweede so it would depend if there were Sweedes available or if there were a bunch of CHLers that other teams would want so he could move down. We also knew that he would need alot of time to way all options before he would get fleeced making a move....
  4. I really think it should have been a lottery of the teams that didn't make the playoffs only. If your in the play in round but not in a position that you would have been in the regular playoffs, you were already given a bonus of being able to get lucky and be in the playoffs with a chance at the cup. With the season being messed up, there's a good chance that one of the lower rated teams could pull off some upsets with the extra rest from the time off and potentially being in better shape to beat a better team that may be rustier? Also this gives incentive for a team that's not going to move on to tank the play in round and get a 1:8 chance to get a great young player. Its not like the revenue is going to be great for teams that aren't a host city, and if you are a host city it won't matter if your still playing or not, your going to make some money for hosting.
  5. Ok, we are talking about the same teams, I was referring to the teams based on the draft positions, I was referring to the next 8 teams either eliminated or with the lowest records if they don't play, being teams 9-16 (making teams 1-8 the teams that were in the lottery, using 1 as the worst team...)
  6. Except for breathing and sweating, all those other things will not be allowed when they start playing again.....
  7. I think they will be on their way out soon in today's ever changing world. If not they will be required to higher an equal number of men and they will be given proper appropriate uniforms for clearing the ice. I've been shocked that the OHL team around here has cheerleaders at their game, the biggest issue is that the cheerleaders are similar ages to the players which puts them in Highschool... This is the Sabres and the Pegulas, they probably will spend a bunch of time and money into putting together a team of Ice Girls right before the league and society does away with them.....
  8. They could always hire the guy who helped the WWE with Owen Hart's rigging for when he repels from the ceiling next time......
  9. Terry ends up embroiled in the 'Me Too' movement?
  10. I knew it was in honor of Fireri, but wasn't sure if he was originally from there, thought he was a Cali guy. I like the idea of 'THE Ohio State Capital'......
  11. I would have Dahlin as an untouchable over Eichel. But would only move Eichel for an offer they can't refuse.....
  12. I read that one too and it seems to be they put it together because the Leafs need 'D' and the Sabres need forwards, only they made it so Toronto gets a good defencemen for some average forwards. Buffalo needs too forwards. I think it less likely that Risto gets moved now after he had a good year with RK coaching and someone like Miller is moved instead. The Boston rumors are basically just Internet people jumping on Buffalo being a dumpster fire, Eichel making a comment about losing, and them thinking that means Buffalo would be willing to deal him away. If the Sabres move Eichel (it's possible but not likely) it will be because they get some crazy offer that they can't refuse, or because the Pegulas really have no idea what they are doing.....
  13. Well it's worked out so well for them so far.... Wonder when the league follows suit and copy their winning ways?
  14. I think it's teams 9-16
  15. It's something like the bottom 8 teams that are currently in the 'play in' round of the playoffs would have a 1:8 chance at the #1 overall pick as they would be the 8 teams eligible for the pick now.
  16. Kim better watch her back, didn't she say she was coming back/staying on in the president role of the team? Are we going to get an announcement next week that she has fired herself from the position?
  17. Or just a few weeks ago when Kim told everyone he wasn't going anywhere? This really makes the Sabres & Kim look like they are running a very well run organization........... Did he say All Lives Matter or the 'N' Word recently? Or did they really not want to sign Laaksonen/Really liked Pilut?
  18. Its going to be interesting because I think its a given that the Cap won't be going up, so alot of teams will be at or over the cap and need to dump instead of signing big names. Alot of upgrades may need to come from within, or players may re-sign with their current teams for less then we would expect because they won't get more elsewhere
  19. Well the good thing is that with Botterill in charge, theres a chance we wont have to worry about seeing playoff hockey around here until everything is back to normal
  20. They probably do Actually its possible that it has, since then they have technology to play games outdoors even in places that may not be seeing temperatures below freezing at the time.
  21. I wonder if they expanded too much into industries they had no experience in? Terry may have known the gas industry well and maybe even just lucky to do what he did and make his money. Then it got him into sports ownership which led to entertainment and real estate/development which are areas currently taking huge hits right now. Running those businesses are probably alot different then running a natural gas fracking company. As for the article, it's not surprising people are viewing it as a negative spin piece because the author has been negative alot in the past about them and the organisation so he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt that this one is all true without a bias spin.....
  22. Not so fast, the NHL voided the deal cause it didn't meet the CBA cause it didn't include time for the rest of this season. They can't actually sign him for next season until the year end on July 1st
  23. I don't see it happening, no teams will outright Fold, they will be relocated if anything. The Sabres won't be one of them unless the Pegulas somehow are bankrupt and must sell Most sports teams may take a hit in their valuations of overall value, but I can't see any league folding franchises and contracting teams
  24. I would say its hasek #1 (No question considering he was the greatest goalie to ever play the game......) Then #2 would have to be Miller, I also don't think he is overrated, I think its the opposite, he took a lot of crap from Sabres fans who expected so much more
  25. OHL canceled the rest of their regular season yesterday, still holding out for a potential playoffs and Memorial Cup, but it's looking like that won't happen either and it's just a matter of time in case the impossible happens and tomorrow everything is over.....
