Our powerplay or more importantly our ability at killing our powerplay was our undoing tonight. That and goaltending. The Sabres are great at throwing the puck to each other around the outside but never actually taking shots. Its maddening. Shoot the friggin puck!

I’d like to see meatballs coach a roster with Eichel, McCabe, and Ulmark plus possibly an off season edition before we bring in a ‘ better ‘ coach.

The Rags are so good at moving the puck around and moving the Sabres around and out of position in the process. This one will be an uphill battle.

Yeah I should have mentioned that there were times during Ralphs tenure this season where I thought this was just a historically bad mix of players. But , collectively I don’t think I’d ever seen a team with all the good talent at the top of the lineupall having a terrible season at the same time. Most are youngish and finding their way out of the terrible play and results while still playing under Ralphs tutelage was pretty much an uphill struggle. And a lot of us ***** on the players.

Its funny how many people put it on Dahlin and not where it belonged.

Sorry bout that . R.I.P.

Man that Samson sucks doesn’t he ? UPL looked good back there. Something about having a big goalie back there that just makes me feel cacooned and safe. good win over a better team.

Can’t wait to hear RJ say dynamite! When JJ gets his first goal in a Sabres uni. Good times ! -
Unfortunately I hear it often on Sports radio. Always the butt of jokes. Everyone getting their digs in. But when you’re this successful at being bad you have to own it. Things will get better. Eventually it’ll be another teams kick at the can.

Sounds oddly like a Ralphism.

I hope things all work out for your son. In regards to your wife I had a 5 mm kidney stone and all I can say is thank god for the hydromorphone. Good luck to her.

Jebus this is comical

Watching that Sabres PP is painful. Telegraphing every pass or the rare shot. Slow as a one legged dog.

In a game where puck possession is important winning the draw to gain possession is pretty important. That being said once you lose possession winning that particular faceoff now doesn’t matter. Certainly in overtime where its basically playing keep away and teams sometimes keep possession the entire overtime or until they score. Basically what Swamp said

Cousins couldn’t win a draw tonight to save his life. Good thing it doesn’t matter.

That was a whole lot of nothing. Tokarskiov is a good story but it’d sure be nice to have Linus manning the pipes. -
I knew what you meant. Everyone forgets the playoff battles year to year around here and has an unhealthy dislike for anything gritty. We don’t need tough guys but we do need our skilled guys to have some sandpaper. we might beat the Bruins this week with a display of skill and skill alone. I’m hopeful but I’d rather we beat them with skill and a healthy dose of good clean hits and snarl. Lucic on Miller is still a stain on this franchise. I guess we’ll see these next series of games what plays out.

It sure would be sweet if our playoff chances hinged on these three games. After the 3 game set we’ll know plenty about whats lacking in this lineup and just where we stand against teams like Bawston. S’pose Bostons playoff chances could come down to these 3 games. Must win. -

All I know is that win or lose the product is fun to watch. Under Ralph All we saw from Dahlin was a kid afraid to make mistakes. He’s only one example of that on a team where nobody could score. Ralphs system sucked ⚽️ ‘s. Now Rasmus is controlling play like we’ve rarely seen. Go down the list. Mitts, Tage, Dylan, Joki, Risto, Asplund, they’re all enjoying the game like Ralph never interrupted their careers. It does pass the eye test.

For some reason the league sees fit to protect players like Wilson.

Wow. Impressive win. Casey looking and playing like he’s arrived. Effort all over the ice by pretty much everyone. That was a fun game to watch. And I gotta say Granato should be in the conversation for sure. These guys were fragile children by the time Ralph was done with them and Granato has them believing in themselves and going after it.
