this is what all the suffering was for. Can't wait to see the team grow into our expectations. If anyone would be kind enough to p.m. me a link where I could view the game I'd appreciate your act of sympathy and kindness.

pretty simple to get Milan off his game. Looks like the plate shifted.

I agree. Its too easy to end a career with these borderline hits. I'll admit I jumped out of my chair when Umberger got his from soupy but I've been edumucated since then. We all know the devastation concussions cause.
-
Last season we heard all about the guy on the receiving end of the hit accepting some of the responsibility for the predicament that he found himself in due to a lack of self awareness etc. but also about the guy throwing the hit realizing when a player was in a vulnerable position and knowing when to pull back or let up somewhat. Dion in my opinion not only followed through but left his feet and its hard to say but it looks like the head was principle point of contact along with the rest of the rookie. If that kid wasn't in a vulnerable position I don't know what is.

Torres is a cretin and got what he deserved. Actually for Torres to concuss himself on that hit would have been nice. Hate that douchbag.

Watched McDavid against the Canucks last night and came away mostly unimpressed. It'll take more than him to turn that franchise around especially in his rookie year.

Game Discussion thread GDT: Columbus @ Buffalo 7pm EDT 10/02/15

Shite I hate listening to the game. BUT THAT SOUNDED GOOD ! Pisser ! or McGinn ? -
It'll be nice to see the opening night roster. The team tonight resembles the team near the end of the tank. I agree that the Kaleta experiment may be over at least in Buffalo. His body is broken.

We gonna retire labattblues #. . Enjoyed your take in the time I've been here. Come back when this season really starts to rock. It'll be exciting. Happy trails.

Also as bad as they were the oil did not tank last year.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Regierian mistake takes the cake. Love that phrase.

how old was Housley ? Shite. Did I just ask that.

My gawd this is going to be an exciting season no matter the outcome. Its the journey not the destination this year. And who knows where this all ends up ?
-
Totally agree. There's nothing else to talk about. If the walls had ears we'd be amazed at some of the conversations G.M.s have concerning possible player moves.

(OT) The Supermoon Eclipse, Live SabreSpace coverage

Wow. Thanks for that. -
Excellent observation and I agree. It seems that depth isn't valued or talked about until you have a lack of it. Methinks it'll be closer to 15 games for the first injuries to start chipping away at the depth. Its already happening on ' D '.

Beautiful clear night here on the west coast. Unobstructed view of the eclipse except for the neighbours weeping willow tree in the back yard. Had to move off the deck and move around to the front of the house to see it but it was real cool. I'll be 68 the next time that happens. Shite -
I agree with you're assessment on overall team toughness. It appears the league is moving towards eliminating the true heavyweight that isn't good at hockey but imo it'll still take awhile and some teams may waste a roster spot on guys like this simply because they have no one else to fill the spot. This could create problems for teams that don't dress one or they can just overwhelm that team with speed and talent.
-
If the eek line can give the other team fits out of the gate I see no reason not to go with it. I'm thinking Disco will prolly change it up mid game to throw a wrench into the other teams defensive systems or to give the Sabres a spark.
-
collectively this team has more backbone. You're still going to have problems if a true heavyweight picks on a star unless we dress a heavyweight.
-
When you suck you gots to stand up for yourself. Teams take liberties with the weak link. It's all part of changing the culture. You won't see many teams picking on the Sabres anymore. If they do they know they'll pay a price.
