No excuses for what Wideman did. Not even a concussion. Somewhere along the way Dennis Wideman forgot why he originally suited up to play this game. The guy sitting on that bench after he hit that linesman was a bitter, childish entitled person. You can still see it resonate in his words as he blames the refs for his predicament. No way could this be the result of his actions. Are you kidding me ? This is THE Dennis Wideman.

Good post. In the news conference he thanked his team mates for their support. This is a tight room but I'm sure he'll have some alone time with a couple of the veteran guys and they'll try and set him straight. No clothes into the shower...yet.

I accept the odd disfunctional slipup from Kane for what he brings to the team. He'll get it eventually. Some guys take longer to grow up. I grew up with plenty of them.

I read this somewhere and it struck me as cool useless information so here goes. Back in the day if a cowhand was short cash he could go into a saloon and trade one bullet for a 'shot' of whiskey. They were both worth around the same so they were traded regularly in the old west. Hence the name shot of whiskey or shot glass.

Good thing there was a flight delay and they were late to takeoff. Otherwise they may have been at cruising altitude where that little explosion could have been much worse. Apparently they had just gotten into the air when it happened.

McDavids first shootout attempt was totally underwhelming. Normally he is coming in with so much speed when he carries the puck and that is one of his many strengths so on his first shootout attempt he slows it down to a crawl and ...it was just bad. Jitters ? Also why is it his first attempt ? Odd coaching decision to not use him in that situation before imo.
