GMTMs just holding him out of games for now to rest him from his world cup experience cause he knows coach is going to play him like a rented mule for most of the season and he'll be worn out for our playoff run. He'll sign him with days remaining til the season starts. :P

Weber would gladly take it on the chin for any guy on this team. Man is a warrior but his best hockey may be behind him. Sad thing is that we may need him before long.

Cody hodgepodge came to represent everything Regier did wrong with this team. Fair or unfair thats how it shakes out to me. He had the talent but lacked the drive. But he did work out with Gary Roberts so there's that. I was pretty vocal in my dislike for Cody the player but I wish him luck in whatever he chooses to pursue. Thats just how I roll.

I get your point but this is essentially AHL hockey right now. Its preseason and its watered down. That being said I do agree there are steps the league could take but they won't. Once the great one ( Wayne ) becomes commissioner you'll see changes to open it up.

When you assemble the best players of any sport the fans of that sport will jump on board. Just because its not the olympics doesn't mean its meaningless. But I get it. When your countries team sucks in a particular tourney its hard to get into it. It won't take long before the States is the team to beat and they go on a dominant run and I'll put money on it that your fellow Americans will all of a sudden feel that this tourney means something. I doubt very much that if they win U.S. fans would say well that was meaningless.

Marchand with a wicked shorty Europe had Canada on the ropes for much of the game but Canada wins !

Babcocks getting outcoached here. Team seems discombobulated with turnovers and the like. Game three seems like a distinct possibility.

Europes controlling play pretty good here with a 1-cod lead early in the 2nd. Tavares missed a wide open net when he rang it off the post from 6 feet out.

According to Bettman those kinds of plays don't cause concussions...or something like that. :blink:

Another great game last night with Team Europe making it interesting though I'm not sure the outcome was ever in doubt. The best hockey being played on the planet right now and its crickets in this thread which is funny as hell. I thought there were hockey fans on this site. If Canada wins it'll be nice that ROR will have a world cup trophy for all his hard work leading up to that moment. So happy he's repping the Sabres .

So many players seeking redemption and striving for big years personally can only mean good things for this team collectively. Ennis, Lehner, Girgs, Moulson,Franz,Kane. Who am I missing ? That and the youth movement that is looking to take another step with Jack and Sam. I can't wait to see how this all shakes out. Not to mention the new guys in Okposo and the russian Kuchirovinoff.

That my friends was a great game. I never thought I'd openly cheer for Marchand but he had a great game as did Crosby. A thoroughly dominant performance if not for the stellar play of the Russian tender in the first 2 periods this would have been an epic blowout.

I was too busy watching Crosby to notice the chump he robbed. Dammit. That was our guy :doh:

I wonder if they'd take Kane for him... :blush:
