  1. Skinner is overdue. Let's get a couple this period.
  2. Related note: I really, really ***** hate Sidney Crosby.
  3. Sick deflections. Not a whole lot Linus is going to do about that.
  4. Oh dear lord, a good back check by Samson... I've almost seen everything...
  5. The Enterprise commercial where Marty Brodeur houses a plate of poutine is about the most on-brand thing anyone's ever done...
  6. Oof. Perfect shot, but he shouldn't have been open to take it.
  7. Fun (/s) night at work. Don't do meth, kids.
  8. Fair enough. But any argument that he’s better than his demonstrated performance hinges upon the premise that he’s been misused in Buffalo, as a top-pair guy. Who in the world is trading for what he is? More frightening: oh my dear sweet lord he’ll be in our top pairing for years because he sometimes produces...
  9. Compared to the numbers this board overrates him to an absurd degree.
  10. Hello. My name is @Sabel79 and I was a teenage Republican. I grew up with hardcore liberal parents, had to annoy them somehow. My father was an officer in the Army. Would not ever shut up about how Reagan should be hung for treason (his campaign negotiating with the Iranian government to prevent the release of American hostages as long as possible to make Carter look bad, with the support of most of the military brass) he wasn’t wrong, but I wasn’t old/smart enough to process that. Instead I discovered Rush Limbaugh, combined with my cosseted private school existence, yeah, the problem is the poors. I went to college, history major, and started actually learning. And hoo boy did I learn. The overwhelming theme is that capital will keep its boot on the neck of the people at any cost. This is the story of the world. This is the reason the U.S. even happened, but that’s for another day. I can not support a person logical/economic system which benefits the few at the great expense of he masses. I’m not a communist, but capital’s thumb needs to be kept off the scale. And lately, we have stopped caring about the thumb and are mad at the scale. Humanity is basically two groups. The few who have everything and trample anything and anyone because they can, and the many who cheer them on in the mistaken belief that they’ll be doing the trampling someday. Me, now, just praying for that asteroid that will even things out...
  11. McDavid surrounded by garbage yields garbage. See Edmonton’s results since he’s been there. Strip the assets required to acquire him, from just about any team in the league, and you wind up with McDavid surrounded by garbage. Nah.
  12. I watched more of Cohen’s testimony this morning/afternoon than was probably good for me, mental health-wise. Takeaways, in no particular order: 1. The basic gist of the attempted Republican rebuttal to what Cohen says effectively cedes the argument that Trump is, in fact, guilty of everything he’s accused of, but Cohen is not to be trusted since he was there too. The logic is really hard to follow. Nobody, outside of the dude who cringe-inducingly trotted the token black lady out to refute the racism claim even bothered to defend Trump at all. 2. Cohen himself did Trump some favors by batting back some of the more out-there stuff (pee tape, Prague, beating Melania, sex assaults). This does a lot for his credibility in general. 3. Jim Jordan is almost incomprehensibly dense. The backbench giving him their time so he could further drool on himself was funny for awhile, but it got old. And find yourself a suit jacket, son. You’re not working the sales floor at radio shack. 4. Cohen is, of course, only doing this because Trump put him in a corner, still a huge sleaze, and I hope he enjoys prison. Doesn’t mean he’s not on the level here, though. 5. This happening today, with Trump in Vietnam agreeing to who knows what with Kim Jong Un effectively unaided, save for the Russian Foreign Minister who just happened to be in the neighborhood, makes me want to howl into the uncaring void until the last of my mind mercifully deserts me. 5. It’s become apparent that all any of this was ever about was a real estate deal in Moscow. Trump is such a venal, stupid man that he gladly sold us out to a hostile power so he could pocket (admittedly, a large amount of) money. That’s all there ever was to it, on his end. And the damage done will take generations to repair, assuming by the time he’s done it even can be. 6. I need a drink.
  13. It’s absolutely not false. By very definition, in order to register a hit the other team has to have the puck. We just place a different value on the particular stat. Is there a need to hit guys to take them off the puck? Absolutely. Do the Sabres as a team do a good enough job of it? Nope. Looking at hits in a vacuum isn’t the whole story though. How do the rest of the numbers look on Carrier and Reaves?
  14. Cohen testifies at 10:00 this morning. His prepared statement is floating around already. Hoo boy...
  15. Racking up hits means you spend a long time not having the puck. Kinda hard to score / win when you're constantly chasing the other team around.
  16. I’ve asked this before to no avail, but a new trailer came out today so I must shout... WHY IS DEADPOOL A POKÉMON NOW!?!
  17. Jack is about to strap this team on his back. He was a monster last night, looks like he means to continue.
  18. Scandella... Risto... on the ice together. What could go wrong?
