If you're into such, this (highly NSFW) episode of one of my favorite podcasts pretty succinctly states the case (albeit, having clearly begun from the position that she's a monster) that she's a monster. https://www.behindthebastards.com/podcasts/the-white-savior-fake-doctor-who-may-have-killed-100-babies.htm

Checking in on the Liverpool-Norwich game like:

29 Years. And no, I would not bet money on that.

Currently watching NYC v Houston. In order to shoehorn a pitch into Yankee Stadium, it has to be so laughably narrow the cameras are having trouble keeping both touch lines out of any wide shot. Bonus points: the sod seemingly slapped down over the infield dirt which looks not at all safe... if I may paraphrase Wayne Gretzky: Mickey Mouse League.

Enjoying a quiet afternoon goofing off on the interwebz. GF’s daughter comes busting through the front door and screams at me to come outside “RIGHT NOW” in a manner that makes me think something terrible just happened. As I make it to the door she says “we’re getting a puppy, you’re on my side...” I step out to see my GF and the neighbor holding three puppies (Australian Shepherd). They’re filthy but seem otherwise okay. Evidently the neighbor came upon a lady down the street attempting to get rid of the dogs (don’t really have the whole story there) and she took them. GF seems to be on board with keeping one. Kiddo is ecstatic. So, I guess, pending veterinary verification that there’s nothing terribly wrong with them we’re taking one. Not sure I’m ready to puppy train again...

Bonus content: I know The Athletic gets banged on about on here, but they’ve filched a whole bunch of quality football jurnos and launched a UK division. If I hadn’t subscribed more than a year ago I would now. I was not paid for this. Honest.

Welp, this is happening starting Friday. I fully expect Man City to run away with the league again this year, but 2-5 are all well up for grabs. Man United are nailed on for sixth. At the other end, all I ask is that this is finally the season we can say good bye to Burnley, but frankly I am not confident as the relegation slots have plenty of clubs lining up for them. My team, Arsenal, are doubling down on refusing to field enough competent defenders and making up for it by stockpiling yet more forward talent. Bold strategy, Cotton... Anyway, looking forward to the season, Until I inevitably have my spirit destroyed, hopefully later than November this time around...

Ullmark Agrees to One Year 1.325 Million AAV Deal
Sabel79 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
TPegs obviously doesn’t mind paying NHL freight for AHL guys. Dunno what the issue is. Worst case scenario, somebody claims him when he gets waived. Same zero cap implications. -
Everything is data mining.

Wait, no. Mike Vernon, Osgood only played two games in the playoffs that year. Still feeling good about it.
-
Mine’s Theo Fleury on Chris Osgood... I’d roll those dice.

ERod -- 1 yr, $2MM, after being > $1 million apart in arbitration

Yeah... none of this belongs there either. -

There is no way in all hell the NHLPA allows fancy stats in arbitration cases anytime soon. Too many guys stand to lose money as opposed to the other way around, imho. -
Scratch that. Reverse it....

Everything Sabres Uniform Related - Royal Blue Please!

Eh...making soccer jerseys out of non-soccer sports, rock bands, and whatever else is a thing the internet enjoys for some reason. -
Capable bottom-pair guy. Nothing more. Nothing wrong with that, either, provided he plays where he belongs.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
Sabel79 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Yeah... apathy is not what I was going for there. I think the the level of signoff is much, much higher than you do. Indeed, there is a reason we elect people to office. Look who we’ve elected. And will certainly re-elect. -

Even were I to cede your point (which, IMHO, rests on a vast general overestimation of the virtue of the silent common man), the effect is, in the end, the exact same. Wittingly or not, yes, they are enabling. We've seen it happen before. A large amount of scholarship has been done and many books written as to how and why this happens. We know. And yet... here we are. -

As to your personal view, no you haven't. But... Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, you're willing to give a pass to all, or at least a great number of those who enable this? That many are just going along because they believe they stand to gain from it so they're not as culpable? It's not coincidental or a byproduct. He and his cohort are absolutely getting away with it, and there is no floor we can hit before things become untenable. What it says about us as a nation and a people is terrifying, and finding it hard to swallow is understandable, but it's there plain as day. How we chose to respond to it is going to determine what history writes about us, and sadly I have no faith that we're going to do anything different than we have been for the past three years, sinking ever deeper into the morass. -

If one is at this point unable to connect the dots, it's the result of a conscious and purposeful refusal to do so. -
