  1. Then you wouldn't get the player you want.
  2. I get that but when you have three of them, at some point you should trade some for others with at least a skill set we're lacking.
  3. I clearly don't know him like some of you. I did some reading up on him and watched about an hour of some video. I concede that I put together too much for him but I am interested in a better mix. I think we all agree on that, so I just thought added attributes we don't currently have. I must say, I do think we over value Samuelsson. I don't think we could trade him if we told a team they can have him and you don't have to give us anything. So we're not getting Miller for him.
  4. I'd pay it to get out of Power's contract and add toughness. The loss in offense can be made up by having a better defender and have 3 more mil to keep adding. If they don't have interest in Power, I'm not sure how Samuelsson becomes attractive. He's less bang for the buck, less upside and injury prone. They'll get much better offers, IMO, but I'd have to purposely fake my excitement if I was the Sabres GM. Wait, you have to take more than 2 seconds to say yes or you'll scare them off. I don't think we could trade Samuelsson unless we gave a team more than just him and didn't ask for anything back.
  5. Power and a prospect. If Miller would agree to a 4 year extension at under 6.
  6. I just don't want to be so wrapped up in disappointment that I can't comprehend good moves and that's what's happened hear, IMO. I'll give you one example. Fans hated Mitts for most of his time. He shines through a little, and I mean a little and KA is trading away "our best forward . I know you read that too. Conversely, If we signed him then - right now we would be killing KA for giving him 5.75 for 40 pts. We can't hate on that, so we switch to KA screwed us by getting Byram for Mitts and we'll lose him and he knew he wasn't a fit, blah blah blah. We have the better piece in Byram, period. Byram played better than Mitts last year, period. Can't we see what he nets us before getting nuts? If that's Misa, we won huge, IMO.
  7. Ah yes I remember this. It was the same time frame we found out they changed the code to open the bathroom doors and "reportedly" refused to give it to Lindy.
  8. TP and KA wanted Ruff to fire the assistants but he refused and turned down the job. KA said ok, we'll keep them, so Ruff reconsidered and took the job. Ruff, after the season was over, then wanted to fire the assistants. TP said no but KA wanted to. Jarmo wants to keep one of them but won't say which one. Jarmo told Staal which one but he pinky sweared not to tell anyone. Now TP is giving Staal the silent treatment. 6 top level assistants outside of the organization called Ruff and want to come here. Guelli set up a teams call at a time Ruff could only call in. He had his microphone rigged through IT, so the assistants thought he was ignoring them and all took other jobs.
  9. I know but you also say you don't want to run it back, so there's that. Changes are needed. I don't want to keep getting younger either but I also don't want to hate doing that so much that I stupidly do it. Meaning if you have a conviction for a prospect like Misa, trade a piece to get it. I have a feeling Misa is going to be special. It's a strange phenomenon. Most fans are so pissed they hate mostly everything about the team, then we talk about trading players and we don't want to let go of anyone.
  10. Do you think Byram and #9 is enough to move to #3 with a Chicago trade? Would you? Do you think Peterka and #9 is enough to move to #2 with SJ? Would you? IMO, Misa would be my target with these trades.
  11. "Every meeting is usually the same, they ask the exact same questions.". Carter Bear. How dare KA and Pegula talk about Penn State and not just keep it like Bear's experience. Scumbags. Am I doing this right?
  12. I trust your evaluation so much, now I do too. I believe you may have mentioned Bear before we started passing teams in the standings and I think I liked what I read. I'll spend more time on these two for sure now. Took me a minute to get over myself.
  13. I started to get excited about a few of these top guys from reading LGR's posts. I had a love/hate relationship with us winning late.
  14. I don't think 30 games means stuck and that losing skid was without Dahlin, so there's a case, IMO, to reasonably believe he's not expected to lose more than win.
  15. We agree on that for sure.
  16. Mmmk. But he's over .500 for his career so expecting to lose more than win if he's in net for 30 games, is at least not supported by the numbers.
  17. I don't consider a single one of those players, if involved in a trade, blockbuster.
  18. McDavid is an absolute pleasure to watch play.
  19. McDavid is one of the best I've ever seen.
  20. I agree that a net minder should be priority 1. I gotcha, so it's more specifically Quinn and a couple others. We've agreed before that the blockbuster is not something I'd entertain either.
  21. I'm not sure if you specifically don't want Marchment but I think you made it pretty clear above, you don't have a proclivity for trading young talent. This is where I get in a real quandary. I don't like giving up or giving up on our young players, but at the same time I realize to get better or better "fits", we likely need to use these young players to acquire them. I honestly don't know where I lean on this, especially since we've lived through the pain of the build from within philosophy.
  22. Impressive how all the diehard fans are suppressing their zeal.
  23. Yet that comment got a like. I appreciate the fairness of your posts and that you don't have an irrational zeal to be angry at everything the franchise does.
