Why do we keep saying this? No he didn't. He was making a ton of money and not producing. That's a contract and player very few want. So far it's already playing out that we won and Norris hasn't even iced.

If it's TBD then why do we get trashed for it until Norris doesn't get hurt or plays good? We're an illogical fan base now, largely . Cozens sucks and you're too scared to say it. Especially at his ridiculous salary. In hindsight, I would have traded him for nothing, we got better just not having him on the ice. Let alone for anything Norris brings.

I really disagree that he has trade value. At minimum, partial evidence is the buyout rumors or truth of it. Players get bought out because they can't be traded. I'm not saying it's impossible that he's traded. IMO, if he is traded, we'll have to overcome his negative value and give up more or receive less.

I totally agree. Who cares if winning matters to the tourist or visiting fan. I'm a Yankees fan, if I visit Fenway should they worry about entertaining me? The only main focus in any arena, for that arena, should be winning for the people that are fans of the team playing in said arena. Yeah I'm good with making it fun for the kids and different "levels" of food options, rich people/poor people, everyone in between. But asking if winning matters to a person not a fan of the two teams playing? Who cares! One they're already there, so you already got 'em and two they'll enjoy it more if the home team goes bananas. How could any organization spend time caring if that person or people come back, next time they're in the area?

Just so we understand each other (not assuming you care to). I'm not trying to support an ancillary point by saying he won the Mitts trade. You're trying to draw concussions from that and there's no dots to connect. It may surprise you that I agree with most of you said above, except the "who cares?". I think it does matter that we have the better player out of that situation as we hope to be moving forward. It's actually how you move forward. It's small thing, but it's a thing. If we string together things, something can happen. Of course only my opinion. You of course wouldn't hope we lost that trade in retrospect, would you? Then you'd be guilty of feeding an agenda. I clearly don't know him like some of you. I did some reading up on him and watched about an hour of some video. I concede that I put together too much for him but I am interested in a better mix. I think we all agree on that, so I just thought added attributes we don't currently have. I must say, I do think we over value Samuelsson. I don't think we could trade him if we told a team they can have him and you don't have to give us anything. So we're not getting Miller for him.

I'd pay it to get out of Power's contract and add toughness. The loss in offense can be made up by having a better defender and have 3 more mil to keep adding. If they don't have interest in Power, I'm not sure how Samuelsson becomes attractive. He's less bang for the buck, less upside and injury prone. They'll get much better offers, IMO, but I'd have to purposely fake my excitement if I was the Sabres GM. Wait, you have to take more than 2 seconds to say yes or you'll scare them off. I don't think we could trade Samuelsson unless we gave a team more than just him and didn't ask for anything back.

Power and a prospect. If Miller would agree to a 4 year extension at under 6.

I just don't want to be so wrapped up in disappointment that I can't comprehend good moves and that's what's happened hear, IMO. I'll give you one example. Fans hated Mitts for most of his time. He shines through a little, and I mean a little and KA is trading away "our best forward . I know you read that too. Conversely, If we signed him then - right now we would be killing KA for giving him 5.75 for 40 pts. We can't hate on that, so we switch to KA screwed us by getting Byram for Mitts and we'll lose him and he knew he wasn't a fit, blah blah blah. We have the better piece in Byram, period. Byram played better than Mitts last year, period. Can't we see what he nets us before getting nuts? If that's Misa, we won huge, IMO.
