  1. http://www.sbnation....dule-2014-sochi Anybody see that someone tried to hijack a plane from Ukraine and fly it to Sochi before it was intercepted by Turkish F-16's? http://www.nytimes.c...rref=world&_r=0 Anyhow, the guy who attempted to hijack the plane was wearing a Montreal Canadians #11 Koivu jersey. lol
  2. Our second game after break is NBCSN... rivalry night vs. Boston. lol
  3. Sabres have a very difficult schedule post-Olympics. And roster should be dismantled by early March. It'll take a miracle for this team not to finish dead last. Let's just hope the fix isn't on during the lottery.
  4. Who's to say the Sabres wanted to re-sign Miller?
  5. Sabres had Brendan Perlini at the game tonight as a guest. He got a tour of the arena and got to meet the team. Is this a common thing for eligible draft players to go to NHL arenas and meet teams? Anyone know?
  6. Anybody notice this guy behind the Sabres bench tonight? LOL wtf
  7. Our last time playing the Phoenix Coyotes.
  8. If we are picking 10th overall with the Isles pick, it's ok to reach on someone to grab a need over a want. But if you're handed a gift from the NHL and pick first overall, you decide who the best player is and you select him. Not saying Bennett is the clear cut better player then Reinhart, cuz i truly don't know. But i have no interest in who they believe will play which position. Grab the best player you can and then figure out the rest. I like both player a lot. The two things why i am leaning towards Bennett right now and last several weeks is... i love his swagger. He plays like a Mike Richards/Doug Gilmour. Likes to get dirty. Is a gamer. Will go through a wall to get the puck type player... and also he is best friends with Connor McDavid and a former linemate of McDavids, and i am 100% in on McDavid. Any connection to McDavid just gets me to drool.
  9. Not only is Larsson not a top-6 player, but he also won't be a bottom-6 centerman. He's almost perfect to play the wing on the third line. Hard worker, strong by the boards, fights for pucks, a 200-foot player, good hands, and very good in his own end. As Matthew Collar says, a puck possession guy.
  10. Torn. Would love to see Peyton Manning win another ring so his haters would STFU, but also cheering for beastmode.
  11. He's been posting about Toffoli and Pearson not being traded for weeks.
  12. Yeah, i will too be shocked if Toffoli is involved. Although, desperate times call for desperate measures. But that NHL Mayor guy, who is a legit Kings insider, still is sticking to his story that Toffoli and/or Pearson will not be moved.
  13. Blackhawks vs. Montreal at Notre Dame stadium. Minnesota vs. Dallas at TCF Bank Stadium (University of Minnesota) St Louis vs. Chicago at Busch Stadium (St Louis Cardinals) Kings vs. Ducks rematch at the Rose Bowl
  14. I am not sure if it's the system or if it's just playing infront of a good team. We've argued in another thread (Miller thread somewhere) about teams not needing elite goalies to win the Cup. It's not the systems that allow non-elite goalies win the Cup, it's teams with very good attacks, which keeps the defense fresh and limits the amount of time the puck is in their own zone. If a team is constantly buzzing in front of the opponents net, then Hiller isn't doing any work. Playing goal for the Ducks is a lot less mentally and physically straining then it is for other teams. The Sabres offense is 1-and-done when we attack and defense needs to cover more ice and do more work.
  15. that guy has to be a paid employee. Right?
  16. Based on what? Ryan has four 30-goal seasons and has won a Stanley Cup, to Eberle's one 30-goal season and zero playoff games.
  17. Hackett is the popular choice because he was packaged in the Jason Pominville deal and has NHL experience, so it makes sense why people would be high on him. However, unless you're just a huge fan of Makarov or Saskatoon, you'd be very hard pressed to find anyone who values him higher then Ullmark. Ullmark is playing in a real mens professional league. A league that has developed many NHL goalies. Makarov plays in the ECHL. Ullmark is also arguably currently the best goalie in the Swedish league. I like both goalies, but no way, based on the knowledge we know today, i'd think Makarov will be a better goalie in 5 years then Ullmark. One guy people always are skipping past, and i don't know why is Nathan Lieuwen. I've always been high on him and he's always played great whereever he's played. Remember him owning the prospects tournament few seasons ago? He just stole the #1 job from Matt Hackett in Rochester as well. If it wasn't for his horrific car accident where he suffered many injuries, he would be a top 2 round draft pick. WHL Champ, WHL Playoff MVP, Ivan Hlinka gold medal. The dude is a winner and still only 22 years old. I really think he has a very bright future.
  18. No way they send Girgensons down to the AHL after playing a full season in the NHL just so he can compete in the playoffs. You tell the kid good job and let him go on vacation.
  19. Check out this incredible heads up play in the German DEL league by Kevin Clark and Adam Courchaine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Vc78BdH2A
  20. No. Murray did say you use the FA market to put you over the top after you draft well.
  21. I'd be shocked if the Kings trade either Pearson or Toffoli for Moulson. Too much IMO.
  22. The players i was most impressed with were Sam Reinhart, Micheal DalColle, Nikita Scherbak and Nikolai Goldobin. Goldobin looked very skilled with the puck but im afraid he will be one of those lazy players at the next level. Even the announcers said he just has that easy going attitude. Reinhart seemed very smooth. Seemed like he was in a higher class then everyone else. Great puck control, smooth passing, great backchecking, he also scored and assisted on a goal. I love Dal Colle's size. From reading articles it was always something that i liked about him. But tonight i finally saw him play. He is an animal. Kind of like Girgensons. He schooled Ekbald on one play which caused Ekbald to penalize Dal Colle, otherwise it would of been a odd-man rush for his team. Seemed to have very good hands. His style of play is very similar to Malkin.
  23. Edmonton never had a chance to get Miller anyways, so it doesn't change anything for us.
