I would like it if you would reconsider your tone. Sadly, maybe even pathetically, I've been a member of this community for fourteen and a half years. The people to whom you are responding are my friends. Some of them, I have met in real life; some, not. Most of them were there for me when I went through the worst thing I ever could have imagined. It certainly transcended sports. You have an utter disregard for politeness and a complete disrespect for anyone other than you, from what I can tell from your limited time here. I don't care if you want to attack me. Go ahead. As above, I've suffered worse. But please stop being disrespectful to my friends. I thank you in advance.

Yep. Roy was a master at it, too. (OTOH, I do claim this: Semin (Caps) was called for diving a few seasons ago, at the Arena. I screamed out, "Semin, you're a swimmer, not a diver!") It is perhaps my greatest moment. It is a sad life.

I'm just back home; I've missed most of the second. The first? WTF? The Rags were cycling that puck all over the Sabres. (I wonder which coach is responsible for that.) Skinner just added one, which is nice. Sabs looked pathetic in the first.

So when I typed my original question at 6am or whatever, I was thinking of a few posts saying that the Sabres' streak should not "really" be considered as part of the overall record.

It would seem to me from these responses that the streak should NOT be disregarded when looking at the Sabres' season as a whole.

So, would the metrics predict the Sabres to be right about where they are now?

That doesn't really do it for me. In fact, it could lead to an argument that if metrics can't support a ten game win streak, the metrics might be off. In a season with 82 games, a team is as good as its record. That record is sometimes going to include long winning or losing streaks, but it still is what it is.

I'll watch Sunday. What time?

I do want to know why I'm supposed to discard the Sabres' ten game winning streak from earlier in the season but credit the Blues' eight game winning streak that lifted them from last place into a playoff spot. Someone please explain.
